MGS 2 sure has a silly second half. Everything after the Harrier fight just gets more and more bizarre.

I think that back when it came out, we we so jarred or pissed about the janky pacing and playing as Raiden to notice that Kojima began to really get loopy during the production of this game.

You mean games that just took a bunch of existing conspiracies and threw them into a game? And then you, not even remotely being well-read, think that the developers were geniuses, when all they did was introduce ideas from literature and the news to video games.

No, he's still right either way. All he said was "redpills dropped," not whether or not they're totally original ideas. Besides, even if you tried to argue they were purely borrowed, they still borrowed ideas that turned out to be prophetic.

Yes. The more media the better.
What, you want conspiracies to languish collecting dust in the book they were originally written in, unable to be referenced or given homages? I wonder why that is.

No I expect you to read a book and not getting your ideas about "deep shit" from game devs who barely know what they're talking about themselves

"I get all my philosophy from vidya." makes you sound like the 13 year olds who think MGS or DX are noteworthy in that regard.

"redpills" are existing ideas that are given in a way that retards can understand, that's the whole point, retard. Otherwise we would be entirely dependent on the works of Wagner and Dostoevsky in order to "redpill" people.

so the solution is to not mention anything at all. You're an actual fucking retard. Of course videogames will not come up with original conspiracies or advanced philosophies, it will however expose them to a larger audience who otherwise wouldn't be exposed to them. There is no downside to that, except for condescending midwits like you like to gatekeep shit to maintain an intellectual appearance when in reality, you are the 2 week college kid.

The 2nd half of MGS2 is after the cutscenes have started deliberately being disrespectful of the player's time and attention while you listen to see if there is anything useful conveyed in them. Instead they're like "haha bet you won't see through THIS incredibly obvious falsehood! Tricked again!" while you are not tricked and still waiting patiently, giving the game more respect than Kojima has for you.

The zoomer is startled, angry, and confused whenever they attempt to play a game with a modicum of narrative. In desperation, they search for the “floss emote” in the menus, and when they can’t find it, they succumb to spasms and seizures as their nicotine-addled vape brains completely shut down.

I believe it is a satirical post, in which this poster has let his opinion known on the matter of the modern generation and some of it's typical, albeit exaggerated characteristics. Specifically, in regards to the confusion a casual games player may experience when presented with an expansive narrative and somewhat complex gameplay loop, which are often not present in the most popular games of today. It was quite a funny post. Perhaps you should read it again?

You know, you're right, and based. MGS2 is typical Kojima garbage where instead of writing a good story, which the Japanese seemingly are incapable of anyway, he instead spends hours bullshit with shit that the player doesn't and will never care about, like Otacon's stupid family drama where his entire family wants to fuck him for some god-awful reason even though he's a neckbearded incel like all of us. Just unrealistic bullshit like that, and then Solidus being like "I'm your dad! JK I killed your dad lol", and Raiden being a child soldier just so they can make us feel bad for him even though all he's been in this game is a faggot cuck whose GF is being fucked by a robot. It's just stupid shit and I hate how weeaboos always try to convince me that this game is a masterpiece or that Xenocuck 2 is "good".

What books explains the points MGS2 was trying to make? Because you don't hear Richard Dawkins at conferences saying anything that sounds like MGS.

What about the "nobody is invalidated, but nobody is wrong" aspect of internet culture? If you start a thread about a game you and a niche audience has played, aren't you creating a pond? Aren't there threads every day on this board that talk about how games are trivial? They're bait threads, but the idea is out there that games are completely trivial.
