name a more useless secret

>> No.7441656

Easy. UFO in first level of Kirby's Adventure. It's already a painfully easy level in an easy game, you can't keep the power without cheating with game genie or something, and it's buried pretty damn good. At least the secret OP posted is a trade-off of a P-wing for 3 extra lives. You get nothing at all out of the secret UFO in Kirby's Adventure.

That was one of those things I never found out about until I'd become an adult male. I think it is just there for the noveltarious aspect - a well-concealed secret that gifts you the most powerful ability in the game, right there in the very first stage! Doom 2 did something very similar, with the rocket launcher in stage 1 secret, that most people will overlook.

I won't spoil it in case you want to try to figure it out, but there's really no logic to it, youd pretty much either need to be told or just happen to accidentally trigger it (and realize you've triggered it)

I think an enigma is a worthwhile secret. The fact that you don't find that anywhere else in the game makes it unique. If it were any other kind of setpiece that were all over the game then I'd say it's a waste of time though with no soul

In Shatterhand you can destroy this piece of wall, but it leads nowhere. More of a glitch than anything because the reason you can destroy it is because the white wall above that is destructible.

If you're lucky you'll get a coin that spawn when destroying the wall.

SMB3 has some really awesome secrets that are pretty well hidden.

in the 2nd part of World 5, there is a secret mushroom house that spawns another of those white flying ship bonus stages full of coins

you know those secret autoscroll segments in the clouds? Some of them hold secret safe boxes with cloud items in them, the ones that let you skip stages

My bad I got confused, it's an anchor for the flying ship that ends the world that you get, not another white ship full of coins. But who knew that the anchor existed?

Come to think of it, that anchor is pretty useless so it's on topic.

And to think there are people who actually think World remotely stacks up to 3. 3 has so much shit like this it's almost in every single level in a very long game. Almost all the 2 and a half year dev time must have been spent on the level design alone.

This was clearly going to be an alternate exit leading to a different boss and presumably a Stage 6', but it was probably too late in development and both the Stage 6' and potentially Stage 7' (maybe even 8') were never worked on.
