3 is alright. 2 has aged poorly

I liked 3 the most of all of them, never finished it though. Got stuck in the spaceship. Then when I got the games again years later they were just too slow for me to get into again. I'd love a musou game ala Dragon Quest Heroes for the series

I've played 1, 3, and 4, and out of those 4 is the only one that I liked enough to beat. I didn't like 3 as much after the time skip.

With that retranslation patch put on it BoF2 is a pretty great if standard JRPG. BoF3 is also pretty good if a little messy at points. Had ambition.
BoF4 is also pretty good. Fantastic art.

I liked 3, 2 wasn't bad for it's time but when I played it something was just... Dumb about it. Proving a frog prince is an imposter by finding abd defeating a golden fly so the real frog prince can cook some food for his senile father to do... What again? Turn based rpgs all play pretty similarly so the story is usually a focal point but idk why the story in bof2 just feels TOO whimsical.
I liked almost everything about 3 except for that damn stupid ugly fucking retarded character (THAT one) being the strongest in the game, and NOT changing his appearance after the time skip. I was so looking forward to it and was immensely disappointed. The desert was terrible but I used a guide to get all the rare items. Killed all the rare enemies, used Kaiser form on the final boss. I beat the shit out of 3.
4 looks promising, but due to those black lines on top and bottom of the screen, it makes some geometry issues with my CRT literally too distracting to play. I couldn't play more than 15 minutes. It's on my list though.

I don’t remember this issue

They're pretty basic for JRPGs but I like the stories and characters a bunch. One of the first JRPG series to have anthro main characters too.

i havent played 3 since it came out but wasnt there a stupid event with you finding out all the way at the VERY end of the game that teepo survived who you thought died at the very beginning and oh-btw-im-a-dragon-too-oh-im-a-villian-now-ok-im-dead. wasnt there very minimal confrontation about it with rei and theres not even any hints about it throughout the bulk of the game that teepo could have been doing shit? like the whole thing was robbed of any significance?
