The fans defend it as "tongue in cheek", but in reality, while it's really, really, really trying hard to be tongue in cheek, it's miserable and embarrassing.

DMC games are great, but for the longest time, I was living under the impression that the fanbase doesn't give a shit about dante and skips all cutscenes. Imagine my surprise when I discover neckbeard pits like /v/ that fellate this embarrassingly stupid character in an embarrassingly stupid series.

I wish all these incurable autists that had the misfortune of growing up with this garbage played Grim Fandango or at least Bloodlines so they'd have a remote inkling of what quality comedy in video games should be.

No, you literally cannot persuade her to make a deal with them.
You have to go behind her back and figure out a deal with one of her councilors.
Plus, this is the only way to get a good ending to the quest, because if you do EXACTLY WHAT SHE FUCKING TELLS YOU TO she kicks you out of Vault City anyway.
Then she apparently never notices that the ghouls are still living in Gecko, even though she wanted them all killed.
So, she's a bigot, a massive psychotic bitch, and incompetent to boot.

Also, this probably isn't the best answer but I wanted their to at least some kind of continuation of the main thread and not have it be just about bashing one character. That said, have to give BI props for writing such a memorable character. I mean, when I saw the pic and looked at her face, I had a literal gut-wrench as the hate came flooding back.

And the best part is after defeating the Enclave she'll still say they should have joined forces even if the Enclave wanted to butcher everyone else on the mainland.

Fallout 2 wasn't very good in general.
Or rather it was a fairly big step down from Fallout 1 in terms of quality and atmosphere.

It's just bigger and improved, but lacks what made Fallout a great game.

Great atmosphere, interesting places and atmosphere, dark humor, decent writing and plot.

Fallout 2 has more or less the same plot and worse writing,
has way too much "lolrandom" humor, goes overboard with pop-culture references and most places and characters are annoying or boring.

Also it lacks the great atmosphere of the first game.
Everything is bigger, better equipped, more advanced and feels very out of place,
despite the fact that the game takes place like almost a century later.

It lacks consistency and substance imo.

Personally, the time limit in F1 was gnawing at the back of my head the whole time I played it (even though I had more than enough to do everything twice over) and it made the experience less enjoyable.
