I'm not simping, I'm genuinely curious. The common complaint is that hes clearly bored out of his mind and looks like the slobs injected him anesthesic before recording the episodes.
People asked for content made by him and not written by the slobs, like Board James or the Earthbound episode which was his strongest content after the movie tanked.
So he decides to start a band of sorts, something James seems to have a modicum of a spark of life, something that might (or might not) be good, but it's finally not AVGN, it's finally James not falling asleep on a couch at the absolute very least and people... It doesn't work like that. Many of James passion projects are shit. Sega activator, Polybius, the immortal, the Head Incident were garbage despite them being a James passion project.
As for his band? How do I put it. If you are depressed at your job and you start attending therapy to make yourself happy, does that mean you should bring your therapist to the office and get your boss involved in group sessions?

Anyway, I will reformulate my inquiry:
I asked something simple. For years r/TheCinemassacreTruth has complained the biggest issue James has is that he does not care about the AVGN character anymore, that it keeps going purely because it pays the bills, and the episodes written by the slobs have been extremely weak. I'm not disputing this, with the exception of the Earthbound episode, the Nerd show was going on a steady decline while Board James picked up momentum, it was clear the effort was going there. People remember Board James' build up and eventual payoff as the most interesting and experimental of James' projects. Cue the posts saying "James should retire the Nerd character and make something new, something that actually interests him. It's depressing seeing him fall asleep beside Mike" near verbatim. And thus, years later, we get something. His band, which again, we don't know how it'll turn out in the future. It might improve, it might stagnate, it might be something in between but at the very least, at the absolutest least posible, he does not look like a dead man walking, precisely what the userbase of r/TheCinemassacreTruth asked: Something new to spark anything out of him, something unrelated to the Nerd.
And the bitching hasn't stopped, it even doubled down, with the dad rock comments and spamming of /vr/ with the gif. Isn't this what you all asked for? James not being a zombie? Or what is it that all of you desire?

It's not a disability, it's more of a relatability sort of thing. Being a failure artist whose work no one likes, it will never be enough, it will bring ridicule. You know, the Squidward sort of deal. The difference is that James at least made something people genuinely enjoyed at some point. I wish James would count his blessings and put a little extra effort on the Nerd like he did in the early days. Not see the character as an anchor that brought down his ambition but as a miracle not many get to achieve. I'm bummed out tje Dragon Quest episode was another slob-scripted drivel.
