Pigs have been used as an insult for hundreds of years, it's no coincidence pigs are seen as villains in media.

Pigs are seen as filthy and gluttonous, typically "evil" traits when it comes to fiction. Same reason bad guys are often reptiles, reptiles are seen as being emotionless, apply that characteristic to a human type personality and you have a sociopath.
