I bought these games for my brother. Soon after he hocked them and the playstation 2.

For me they are like some kind of a contraposition between Crash and Spyro.

Both are mascots and created by the same companies. Each of them are more similar to what the ones from ps1 did, rather than these two.

Who's really the winner in the end though? Jak dying made way for Uncharted and TLOU which are far more recognizable and popular nowadays than Ratchet. I'm not sure pumping out endless rehashes of a PS2 platformer is exactly a win.

Meh, jak and daxter is probably the best platformer 6th gen had to offer. Ratchet and clank is fun, a bit more like 3d gunstar heroes, where as jak and daxter is pure puzzle platformer. Jak 2 is much closer to ratchet and clank, but mixed with gta, it was like gta for kids.

I tried booting Ratshit and Stank in PCSX2 the other day and it looked fucked up, like the screen was covered in Vaseline. Also, the camera speed was slow and janky as fuck. Is my setup just messed up somehow, or was it always like this?

Banjo Kazooie perfected what Mario 64 did

Jak just took "Crash" and made him have open world levels like Banjo 1. But the issue being that the levels are bland as fuck. Outside of the nice art design and day/night cycle. Jak doesn't offer fuck all.

I dunno dawg, I have a 9700k and my PC can emulate PS3 pretty well. Why would I have problems with a PS2 game? And I was definitely using hardware rendering. Also, it was mainly the camera controls that I was talking about. When you turn the camera it moves so sloooowww. Is there an option to change that somewhere?

These were my favorite PS2 games as a kid. Both were so funny and upbeat, with really fun gameplay. R&C 1,2,3 and Jak 1,2,3 are the two holy trilogies of Fun.

Yes basically if you want an actual platformer and not some weird GTA clone that falls short.

Also the first one has this cool almost seemless world, which obviously has loading but you don't really notice when playing.
