I made this today.
It's a dehacked dummy for simple level scripting. You can have it run through a few line actions:
1: DR Normal Door (Open-Wait-Close)
4: W1 Normal Door (Open-Wait-Close)
88: WR Normal Lift (Drop-Wait-Rise)
46: GR Door Open Stay

It uses the lost soul charge, so you can slow it down with teleporters, or doors, or you can just make a really long hallway... Anyways. It's just in case you don't want voodoo dolls for whatever reason. Also it shoots in case you want to use the GR door open line action for whatever reason.

It was called Wolfstone and some people found a way to run it on ecwolf but it supposedly requires you to own one of the shitty aforementioned new games. It's the same Doomguy as the original games. The nu-iD cannon is considered to be Doom 1, 2, 64, 2016 and Eternal. At the end of 64, Doomguy decides to stay in Hell to stop an invasion from ever happening again. Perdition's Gate had been offered, but 'the window of opportunity had closed', now, the PD that we actually got was weak as fuck, but it wasn't finished by the time it was offered to iD (likely this was why it wasn't accepted, as they would have to wait for people to make like 20 more levels), the map pack was padded out like fuck by Wraith Co. mappers as they acquired the rights to the megawad, which is one of the reasons the level design is so unfathomably samey and uninspired in a lot of places.

Perhaps one of the nicer levels from PD could have been adapted to TNT, to replace shit levels like Habitat.

"Doomworld Speedmapping Compilation #7." Short and not so sweet. Contributors had to make their maps in 100min. Has 9 maps that increase in duration and quality as you progress. E1M1 has a yellow exit door that doesn't require the yellow key for instance, whereas E1M8 is a sort of mashup between themes in existing maps (pic rel) and takes > 3min to complete. Overall not bad. If you want something to do for 30-40 minutes, give it a shot.

This is why I love and prefer Quake to Doom. It took the horror atmosphere they tried to achieve in Doom and perfected it. Not just visually but the music also helps tremendously as well, Reznor did an excellent job, so so much better than the goofy sounding MIDI stuff from DOOM. I can't tell you how disappointed I was when Quake 2 went full "unkillable badass super soldier power fantasy" and completely dropped the unique world they created for the original. The Quake 1 brutalist architecture meets medieval castles and Lovecraft horror is such a creative and cool aesthetic compared to what they did with 2. I really wish more games had a similar dark surreal style, the only other title I can think of off the top of my head is American Mcgees Alice.

I started a new game and completed level 1, quit the game during mission 2, restarted the game and went to load the savegame and went straight to Dendar (level 2).

A savegame file should be created automatically when using PCExhumed (the one my 7zip uses), look for a file called savegamea.sav.

Recently I was playing the [LA] Worlds series after I found their respective wads on a very old HDD of mine (I used to play on the ZDaemon servers in late 2000's, like 2008-2010).
They all contain "jump 'n' run"-like levels, sprinkled with secrets here and there.
Most secrets feature a picture of the level maker.
I found that very interesting and extracted all these images.

I really liked this map, cool unique world and enemy textures that fit the underwater theme perfectly (replacing the Lightning gun with a trident was a nice touch as well), new underwater enemies and a Sonic style water bubble gimmick. My only complaints are that it's too short and the new super shotgun sound isn't good.

I downloaded all the maps on Quaddicted that were rated 4.0 - 5.0 but I think I need to give 3.0 maps a try once I'm done with those, this one is 3.9 anyway so close enough.

The switches that do exist are close together and are usually for opening doors nearby. An example would be walking into a big arena and then 2 rooms open up with a switch in each room. You press both switches and then a key spawns.

Here are two bugs I found, the guy on top drops the spider key but he likes to fly into that corner for some reason rendering him unkillable from below, he will follow you onto the higher balcony though. Using nBlood btw. Also the 500.ini file still doesn't like showing up unless you unzip the folder directly into your Blood directory. Anyways, Ram Ranch was a good map but had more bugs. Top to bottom, left to right: the sky getting cut off, z-fighting on the fence texture and the ground, a portal being fucky, the ceiling slope pushing me into the ground, and this door being weird. Another note, the start should extend instead of the road just ending right where the player can walk to.
