I don't think it's that. It's the face. The gargoyal is by far the best example of what I'm thinking of. Dungeon Keeper also has it. It's really hard to pinpoint what it is exactly. Shape of the mouth, size of the lower jaw, the teeth.

Yeah they are kit-bashed 12" super poseable Power Ranger figures from the mid 90s, I had that same red one. I had the white ranger too that was like that and came with his white tiger zord. It was the hot toy that year (1994 I believe) and were sold out everywhere. My grandma ended up stumbling on one pushed behind a bunch of shit at a local store after they had already been all over this part of the state looking. Was pretty sweet getting it on Christmas, I was like 9.
