I just miss when racing game soundtracks - be it original scores or licensed music - were actually high intensity, high energy blood pumpers to let the player feel the speed. From the classic arcade sounds of Daytona, SCUD race to the more metal seen in DD2, demolition Racer and the thumping DnB of rollcage. The current trend of tamer rap and pop style songs does not sit well with me.

Nossir, I don't like it.

While the controls are fine, as well as the visuals, being forced to race in a team's craft that the player does not select themselves is a bad error of game design. There are also some lacking optional feature toggle annoyances here and there.

I applaud the former Wip3out team members for their fine efforts, however I will stick with AG-Sys. I thank Neognosis for their hard work.

I always feel like revisiting PGR3 over PGR4, but PGR3 was a launch title and it ran at below native 1280x720 with no antialiasing so it looks incredibly chunky and very hard on the eyes. PGR4 on the other hand runs at native 1280x720 and incredibly antialiased, smooth as fuck.

It isn't a loose connection - it was part of formula fusion's marketing before they basically cancelled the game for a year. Regardless i've played enough of it to be able to perfectelly articulate why it is shit and why BallsiticNG stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the games it takes inspiration from.

>> No.7338486

It is a loose connection, and the fact it was part of their marketing is what makes it so scummy. I was so glad the game got shit on from Formula Fusion to Pacer because they deserve it. Andrew Walker's credit only appeared in Wipeout 3 as an artist so to me that's definitely leeching.

Just replaying NFSII using the simulation physics and man does that change the challenge of the game. It slows the game down a notch and makes it truly feel like the stepping stone it is between TNFS and HP. I really should've given simulation more attention back in the day as it does make vehicle differences (notably braking) more pronounced.
