I like Super Circuit far more than most people do.
As for dislike, I hate that Digimon kart racer. It's so bad.

Every year I thought about asking for this for christmas but there'd always be some other game that came around to top it as a christmas gift. Never actually played the game but it's one of those that I'll always remember as looking good but too weird to own.

i need to replay it and see how it fairs out. The humor was definitely there, i had a ton of fun playing that game multiplayer with friends and we were all dumb kids way into south park.

The game is probably not as good as i remember though. Mario kart or Diddy Kong Racing probably hold up better but SP Rally will always by my personal favorite.

Diddy Kong Racing. Kid me really dug the exploration aspect of it with the hidden balloons on the overworld and the silver coin collecting. Would love to see a modern version of it since it's pretty much the only racing game I ever really enjoyed enough to 100%

That's one game that could have been a cheap cash in but Rare actually took the care to make it unique. It just felt pretty well design and the assets and levels well thought out, it was also pretty different from Mario Kart when even Square took the route of straight rip off.

Not the biggest fan of Rare collectatons but the effort in their games was there, DDKR has a lot of charm even today.

Unfortunately no, I just liked it enough to recall it as an unpopular kart racer I enjoyed.
I had a hacked PS1, so I played a good share of crappy kart racers and this one was very decent. Fun stages, good physics, interesting items, and quirky dialogues.

I guess they've done more because there's money to be made off that formula. But it's kinda sad that the roster is almost the exact same with characters that haven't been relevant for 20 years, I saw the roster and expected to find way more characters I couldn't recognize, but nope.

Thats kinda sad actually, most of those shows were from my time and ended when i was still a kid, i dunno if zoomers still watch them or they are making the game for very nostalgia striken 30+ yr olds. I also guess Spongebob would be milked for at least 100 years more because i don't think they ever got another iconic success like that again.

Yeah, a small part of the screen gets cut off, but it has some really cool gimmicks.

For sentimental reasons, Lego Racers. I had it on PC, not N64, but the big N64 players round out the top of my list. Not sure if it counts on a "not a 'kart'" technicality, and it's probably not the worst kart racer I ever played, but the one that stands out as most disappointing in my youth was Banjo-Pilot on GBA.

Was Speed Punks/Freaks disliked? There's a strong argument that it was better than CTR
