One of the first games that pushed a character who the SJWs if today would love, but back then you consumers looked at her in the box and said that's not worth playing, and you couldn't guilt them over it. Every magazine raved about it at the time if release, no one wanted it. Because the look if the character is shit, and in a sane society you don't put that front and centre if marketing. But I guess it revolutiimised the way they would sell games in future.

The lack of gamepad support is a serious black mark against it in my book. Sure keyboard and mouse is playable, but a pad is really ideal for a game like this. There's nothing the PC version gets you that the HD version doesn't as far as I'm aware.

Console-to-PC ports from 6th gen and prior in general tended to be really spotty, that's one rare thing that actually got better with time.

Word of advice: Don't bother with very old games on new tech. You'll just end up pulling your hair out. BG&E isn't a worst case scenario (it uses DX9, so it can run natively on Win10), but generally if you want to play old games you shouldn't really be playing on new hardware. I also a have a slightly stronger PC (R5 2600X + Radeon RX 580 + Win 10), but generally I don't bother with old games on it. That what my retro PC (the aforementioned Athlon X4+RX 460) is for. A virtual machine is also an option if you don't have the room or money for it, but it's a very technical solution.

Not quoted but you can run VMs of pretty much every x86 OS and a few non-x86 ones so all the Windows can be emulated including XP, 98, 95, 3.1x and DOS.
Either using straight-up Windows ISOs in Virtualbox/VMWare or stuff like Dosbox/PCem.
Since it's a VM just pirate all the stuff.

the white characters are also pretty smart and aware enough to know what is going on and play a significant role in keeping Jade alive, because she has no real idea of how much danger she is actually in until later on in the game.

its more like an over-produced indie proof of concept game, than a fully fledged AAA title, and if anything, its kind of a good game to chill out and play. its pretty good imo.

also, in case anyone wants to think that the baddies are supposed to be Nazis (they are, in a way) but they're also supposed to be a combination of the Commies and Americans (alongside another country) during the time of the height and hysteria of the aftermath of 2001, with a touch of 1984 thrown in for good measure.

its a good game in its own right, its just not the best, and that makes it a decent game since it at least tried to be a game. better than most modern shit desu.
