It's almost as if the policies of the right contributed to its lasting success. Instead you get a ton of garbage shovelware.

I hate the game industry because there is zero regulation, and when someone like Nintendo tries to regulate things they get slapped with, ironically, government regulation saying NO YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO HAVE QUALITY CONTROL BAD NINTENDO BAD

I chose everything except the amstrad and the ST. Not the zoomed up 64 or burger famicom versions but same difference. I guess it might have been nice to have an ST but I spent that money on a car instead. No one ever got laid in the back seat of an Atari ST.

What are you nuts? The C64 and Spectrum have among the biggest homebrew communities of any retro platform. I give that there aren't really a lot of people doing Amstrad stuff.

Nintendo was lazy about distribution and didn't out in anywhere near the effort they did in America. On top of that, the British were already way into the speccy and C64 so by the time the NES hit the UK it seemed ridiculous to have to buy the console and then upwards of £50 per game when they were used to around 3-5 quid a game.

>> No.7307027

>>7306949
Granted, although it took a while UK devs did some cool NES stuff such as Ocean titles and Silver Surfer. They also ported some Taito arcade games.

>> No.7307038

>>7307027
UK devs were making games for the NES pretty early on, or I should say they were being contracted to make games for it. Even if they weren't being sold in the UK the American market was and is vastly bigger so it made sense to make games for it.

Use turbo tape and fastloader faggot. The real downside was the frequent tape loading errors on the speccy, C64 and CPC didn't suffer from that anywhere as badly because they used digital rather than analog tape drives.

>> No.7311084

yeah, that. any time you save something (a BASIC program, etc) to tape on a Speccy, do _not_ touch the Volume and Tone knobs on the tape recorder or you may never be able to read it back again.
