Its well established by now that anyone who still buys physical retro games is only doing it to have the plastic on their shelf, while anyone who isn't stupid with their money has the hardware with their flashcarts and the poorfags have emulation.

I know the irony mentioning flashcarts with regards to this post, but no one with a brain would really shell out money to play CD 32X games.

I guarantee the MegaSD or some kind of Mega Everdrive revision will have 32x support/emulation right out of the box before long. You'd have to be crazy to buy this. Reminds me of those 3DS flashcarts like Sky3DS that were out just before all the firmware hacks hit, has irrelevant historical artifact written all over it...and from the sounds of it they know this.

Generally I agree but we're talking about such a small pool of games here, I don't think many Night Trap CD32x players are looking to be doing frame-perfect, 100% accurate playthroughs. And even if they are there's like four games to 'perfect', I'm sure some SEGA autist could do it.

It's like whenever someone posts info about some shitty, obscure unreleased retro game and suddenly a bunch of neckbeards who've only just learned about its existence show up saying "OMG I NEEEEED IT!"

I think hong kong '97 is a good example of this. Absolute garbage game, where the story about its existance is more interesting than the actual game and yet you have people crying about not being able to buy a physical copy.

I understand collecting consoles and games to put on a shelf, because they're attractive items and can make neat décor.
