Granted, but being the "balanced" character just makes her not powerful OR fast enough to make gameplay interesting for advanced players. Even Axel is more fun for how op he is, but your Max or Skate is where real fun is.

But I do know that if you're going to play with someone to beat the game, you should pick a character who is strong enough to take out the fat guys in the last level of the game.

Playing this game now with my 4 year old and it's honestly pretty fucking fun. I know it isn't retro but it does capture the feel pretty good.

Recently beat Double Dragon Advance and Golden Axe. Former is definitely one of the best out there and the latter is more of an acquired taste.

I've been playing Vendetta (Crime Fighters 2) with friends on MAME and it's really fun.

Unlike in Capcom beat 'em ups, in this game you can't simply walk up to the enemies and start mashing punch because they fight back, you have to time your hits, pick up things laying around and use them effectively, use grappling moves and beat them while they are laying on the ground.

It feels very satisfactory to use throwable items, barrels keep rolling over enemies after knocking them down for more hits, molotov stays burning on the ground for a while, you can smash enemies into walls with clubs, etc, however my favorite thing is kicking them on the ground.

If you are into beat 'em ups, definitely try it.

Zero Team just re-released on Arcade Archives recently. Never heard of it before. It was pretty great and very very impressive for '93

Here's a hot take. I like Guardian Heroes Advance more than Guardian Heroes(Saturn). It's way more manageable and deflecting is super easy. Combo is free form, and magic is plentiful.
