Just finished Panel de Pon on Hard without continues to get the best ending. Turns out it's exactly the same as the ending I had already gotten, because losing with characters other than Lip apparently doesn't count.

Fuck Panel de Pon.

Apparently there's still more dialogue if I beat the game on Super Hard but... fuck Panel de Pon.

Deadly Roms of Death. It's kind of like playing chess on Hero Quest's board with a solo king and the opponent moves all his pieces forward in certain patterns. Also, the levels/puzzles follow a pretty damn good difficulty curve.
The first version of DROD came out around 1997, but I recommend the Architects' Edition (picture related) which is an official (and completely free) remake done around 2003.

I've got it on the NES, and I'll agree with you there. It took me a while to figure out what you are actually supposed to do, which made me feel REALLY stupid, considering the cartridge art and everything.

Pipe Dream is similar, but you need to build the longest length of continuous pipe before the liquid reaches the end.

Sleuth is an okay game. It's not great, but sometimes it can be funny if you use names of people you know and stuff.

Super Puyo Puyo is hard as fuck because unlike other falling pieces puzzle games there is very little room for error and once you fuck up it's hard as hell to recover. I consider myself a puzzle game guru but I've never been able to master Puyo Puyo. I wonder how many kids bought Kirby's Avalanche never to get past the the first few levels.

Now I'm doing Touhou Sleuth. Who could have killed Sanae?

Oh yeah, this game also counts your moves. If you take too long, the killer will eventually kill you, which makes this also an early example of the horror genre.

Whatever. This is a DOS game, so I'm calling it retro. I played it when I was kid.

It's a pretty standard oldschool block-pusher, and you play as a vampire who can sometimes turn into a bat and fly over obstacles. The object of every level is to collect vials of blood, and go in the exit door. 50 levels in all.

I've been replaying it because of this thread. This level really pisses me off. >:T

Ah, the last level. Ayame must be the main character's name.
