My PS2 came with the dudebro shooters and MGS2/3. If I didn't have them already I'd get those editions but it's not worth the extra when I already have the games I guess.

Fair enough. In that case check out We Love Katamari, and if you like action games DMC1 and 3: Special Edition. For JRPGs if you like P3 try out SMT Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga 1&2, and obviously P4 (the Devil Summoner Raidou Kuzunoha games too, but those are weird action RPGs). Disgaea is a good strategy RPG, there are a few other Nippon Ichi games in the same vein if you like it.

They don't even need a softmod anymore. As long as you have a slim, you should be able to patch any iso, then just burn it and it'll play with no mods needed. You're fucked if you have an older console though, since it needs DVD firmware 3.10 or 3.11 to work.

Just played dbz Budokai 2.
Most disks work well on my PS2 but sometimes only particular games don't work or take extra time to read the disk.
Overall the laser seems to work okay so I don't think it's fucked, could just be dirty? I've never cleaned it...

Dragon Quest 8 for sure

How do you guys deal with blue disc games? I have 3 fucking systems and they all struggle with them. None of them can run Ridge Racer V but Winback works on one of them. Just a pain in the ass. I have freemcboot and can run games with opl off usb or the network but the compatibility seems iffy.
