Hey /vr/,

How are you guys holding up, what with the winter and the plague and everything? Unless you're Australian, I suppose. I hope you're all cozy.

I'm burning some PS2 games for a friend [1]. She's working as a nurse, so I figured she needs all the love she can get right now.

What should I burn? Any idea is welcome.

[1] Earlier this year, someone found an exploit "FreeDVDBoot" that culminated in a patcher for ISO-ROMs which you can find here:

It patches your ISOs so you can burn them, they play on any PS2. Absolutely no console modification required, not even a prepared Memory Card

When using FreeDVDBoot, as far as I understand, there's no concern anymore about region codes. I tested it with a NTSC Tony Hawk 3 and it plays perfectly on my PAL console, so no problems there.

FreeDVDBoot specifically does not. Sorry.

There's other cheap ways you can play PS1/PSX backups on the PS2, though. Easiest one would be to buy a ready-made FMCB Memory Card (from Aliexpress or whatnot), launch OPL from there and then play the PS1 games from a USB drive (a small pen drive will suffice).

I wanted to try this anyway, so let me find a USB key...
