I could walk down the street and trip over a stack of nes Mario bros/duck hunt, and you're gonna try to charge 30bux for it?

I used to work at a used video game exchange. Once we were so slow and so bored that we constructed a fort out of Mari Bros/Duck Hunt cart and sports games.

Mario Bros/Duck hunt made up a good 50% of our fort.

I was there a few months ago, and they had FF7 for $50... still "meh", but not as bad as $70.

I think I saw it at mine for $35 last month.

Can't remember whether that was black label or GH though.

Disregard that, Probably won't be able to boast about it until it gets here and I can confirm that it works, though the seller did say it was tested and works. All 3 discs and case but no manual.

I've sold Super Mario Bros. for forty bucks recently. Thirty bucks really wouldn't be that hard if it's in good condition, although twenty is going to get you more sales (if fast sales is what you need). Retro games are popular and considered "collector's items" by some. That's just how things are and you need to adjust, or continue going to yard sales in hope that you can find someone's clueless grandmother to scam and fleece.

I used to live near the best retro game trading store ever. They always had fair prices and were willing to haggle on stuff, always knew about the conditions of the games they had, were willing to clean discs you bought from them for free whenever as long as you had the receipt, and let you try anything on a TV they had set up to see if you like it.

They got run out of business a few months ago since more modern games had started taking up a good chunk of their sales and Gamestop was running them out of business. Now the only place that specializes in older games near me is a place that sells copies of Mario/Duck Hunt for fifteen bucks a pop. 80% of the games they have on display are sports games with someone's name written on them and they have a wall dedicated to DVDs, a good chunk of which feature Adam Sandler in some role.

I have never felt such a mix of sadness, anger, and disappointment in all my life.

I work at a retro shop and I hate these idiots because they create more idiots that think it should be worth that. Guy comes in with Super Mario Brothers 1, 2, and 3 and thinks for trade in he should get close to $60 and I'm having to show him that those titles don't even sell for $50 combined.
Though the irony is they are the same games that will come in with that weird obscure shit they think is worthless but worth hundreds.

Kiss any retro stores left goodbye when Xbone and PS4 show up, that will kill the last few local markets by 2015 at the latest.

>local flee market asshole has NES Super Mario Bros.3 for $60
>also was selling Super Mario world for $50
>had Mega Man X3 and Earthbound for $10 each

It was both dumbfounding and hilarious. Bought them and then told him to google up the ebay value on them. Guy won't even speak to me now and refuses to sell to me. Totally worth it though.

cool your jets, and think about this realistically. smb/dh isn't worth forty, or thirty. not even ten. it's literally one of the most common nes games.
but all the same, no one cares how much you suckered someone into paying for it

This guy has called kids younger than 8 "fucking idiots" to their face because they ask if there are any games they can buy from him for under $5. The guy lectures people on why liking anything newer than 1999 is stupid and likes to brag how he takes advantage of stupid customers("I sold this cart for $40! It doesn't even work!").
To then be presented with an opportunity to humiliate him and bring him down a few pegs?
It was so worth burning that bridge.
And at worst case I have a few connections at the market that could buy in my place if he really got anything else I wanted
