I love the Aleste games and Zanac but I don't own a Switch or Ps4. The Game Gear Micro bundle looks really tempting though but I don't know if it's worth it.

As for the Switch, it still sells like crazy and it's portable, people really really love playing handheld shmups or Tate Mode, but seriously, indie or more niche games just sell more on Switch than anything else.

Particularly Xbox whose market is very much gamers that play AAA or multiplayer games only as almost everything tends to sell less there...though i think Game Pass is changing this somewhat, many Xbox gamers "discovered" Celeste years after everyone played it thanks to Game Pass.

I guess Ori being the game most Xbox gamers voted for Xbox GOTY indicates that things are changing as that game is an indie 2D metroidvania, a great game, but still shocking...it just isn't changing fast enough it can get many shmups on it, like Aleste Collection.

But seriously, i wish it was on PC, Xbox is still one thing, but come on, why not PC?

Basically, Xbox was the first to really have online multiplayer and an online store, it was easier to sell on digital stores than making physical copies for a niche genre...sadly, it seems that MS thought that games sold were too arcade...on a service with Arcade on it's name at the time and asked developers to stop, i guess they wanted bigger indie games like we see nowadays but it was still an awful and stupid thing to do.

It basically killed their shmup monopoly which is now in Switch's hands, and PS4/5 to a lesser extent.

See how many shmups nowadays don't come out to Xbox for this, certainly not seeing Cotton reboot announced for it.

Why is it only the 8-bit games? Why not include Robo Aleste?
