>Aw yeah ,This is happening!
This game is way better than Mario 64,such a shame they ruined it for the rereleases

People over-exaggerate the slight changes on DX, it's still largely the same exact game.
Also

Meh, so boring.

I still enjoy playing Mario 64, I can't say the same thing about Sonic Adventure

Not really. There are notable differences. Which is why I still own the Dreamcast version and not the Gamecube/PSN/XBLA/PC version.

Keep telling that to yourself. At the end of the day it's the same game. It's not like you will hate one or love the other, if you already hate Sonic Adventure, playing a slightly different version won't change your mind.

What is happening exactly? Sonic just blurts out that line out of nowhere while running around in the city. Nothing is actually happening, he is just getting hype at absolutely nothing. But the line sounded cool I guess so they had him say it?

Everything about this game is hyper low quality, just roll with it

Sega's demise

They ruined the aesthetic, the game's still fun.

If it helps, the original Japanese line translates to "Great! I'm feeling good!"
So basically he's just chilling and having a good time running around the city because that's what he likes to do

It really isn't

I play this game every so often because I have a lot of nostalgia for it but I never do anything besides play Emerald Coast, Speed Highway, Windy Valley and Twinkle Park as Sonic. Occasionally Casionopolis for the NiGHTS music but that isn't good by any means.

The rest of the game is average to bad.

Yeah, pretty much. There's a lot of changes but they aren't a huge deal. Gameplaywise, storywise, etc. it's all the same. The ports mostly just fucked the aesthetics and graphics.
My take on SA1 is this
>half of Sonic's stages are good, half are fine
>every character besides Sonic doesn't justify its own existence
>Knuckles and Gamma come closest, Knuckles is ok but simplistic and Gamma is overly simplistic with zero need to do anything besides button mash unless you're going for all emblems (which isn't worth the trouble in any version)
>Tails, Amy, Big are all worthless besides Tails' Speed Highway being okay
>story is really not complicated enough to deserve the 'multiple perspectives' style, on top of that only Sonic and Knuckles are actually relevant while the rest go on random side adventures
>aesthetically the game (at least the original version) is nice and it has some really nice effects on Dreamcast
>OST is easily one of the best in a franchise known for its great OSTs
Overall I'd give it a 3/10. I can't give it any higher if I don't think 80% of all gameplay doesn't justify its own existence. By that I just mean it doesn't add anything substantial that wasn't already seen in your playthrough of Sonic's story. If the game were Sonic by himself I'd give it a 6 or 7. What it does well it does good but not fantastic and if they just focused on Sonic the game would have been a lot better. I appreciate the ambition but ambition hindered this game rather than helped it.
t. has beaten it like far too many times

Happenin', not happening. You're not cool, you wouldn't get it.
