This is a well-estabished part of her characterization and not something that can be "rushed" into her backstory and personality. Sure, there's the additional issue of Sonic and Blaze not saying a word to each other the one cutscene they appear in, but that also causes an issue in Rush's story and you can argue Sonic was too emotionally distressed to recognize Blaze in the background at that moment. Since 06 has the reputation it does, the official story is that Blaze was always a princess from another dimension in charge of the Sol Emeralds, and somehow wound up in the future of Sonic's world in 06.

For the record, "earth" may be the result of poor translation since there are multiple ways to translate "chi" and the specific word "chikyuu" was never used, but that's a totally different rabbit hole.
