Stop thinking of it as a gaming system. It's a great computer that could do some really good audio and video edit work.
People who cling to its video games are simply people who didn't have access to anything else at the time.

Settlers. Pirates. UFO Enemy Unknown. Hunter. Frontier: Elite 2. Dune 2. Ishar 2: Messengers of Doom. All excellent RPGs with a level of gameplay depth way ahead of what the shit SNES was doing at the time. Another World. Flashback. Both far superior to the shit SNES versions. Turrican 3, far superior to either of the shit SNES Turrican games. BC Kid, far better than the shit SNES Bonk games which were plagued with nauseating slowdown. Lotus Turbo Challenge 2, Jaguar XJ220, both far smoother than the SNES Top Gear games, and far better than those lifeless and flat "mode 7" games the SNES churned out.
The Amiga couldn't just keep up, it completely curbstomped the shit SNES.
Pic related, nintendrones being BTFO on the much superior Amiga.

It's not that it isn't superior, it's that it's boring. Making outstanding music within the restrictions of the hardware on hand is what makes it cool. In a similar fashion, most Amiga trackers are much the same. Dedicating all of the CPU resources to audio work is cheating.

I mean, sure there's good music out there, but the popular games all just use the OPL chip as a MIDI playback device with approximations of Roland instruments. It is precisely the same situation with the Amiga, actually being far superior in terms of hardware and games, yet these nintendrones continually poke fun at it, an audacious move when their SNES is what they have to offer in retort, a sluggish, dull, lifeless console with nothing to offer but a disappointing library of overrated, horrendously flawed games.
