Let's try and redeem this shitthread by talking about parallel universes.

Would you prefer to live in a universe where Super Donkey/Super Mario Bros 5 was finished? You'd be losing Yoshi's Island and DKC to get it, but in this hypothetical exchange you'd also get Rare making a prerendered Wario game for SNES instead. Also, consider that Mario 64 may turn out different due to a lot of it's concepts (movement options/flight powers) being utilized earlier in SMB5. Choose wisely.

They should have done that anyways and really could have. DKC3 released after mario 64. I think they wanted to go 3d and didnt think a 2d game would sell or work as an n64 launch. Honestly, its understandable, 3d was just so hot at the time. But it would have been looked back on fondly now instead of the shitshow that was DKC3. They let the amatuers make Dkc 3 while the people who worked on the first two made banjo. Others made blast corps and goldeneye and conker(which was indecelopment hell for years). 2d dkc 3 was left to the rookies sadly. Kiddy was fuckin stupid.
