Any plan to make rom hack of this game

When you make one Jovan, we'll have one.

What is a Jovan?

kek, that's the first time I've seen someone else than an economics professor use Google sites for anything, especially that kind of stuff. Endearing stuff.

>>7136472
Why / how would you want to hack it?

Too much work. Beam Software made it so the only way you could play it in Japan is with the English text and the Japanese text being shown at the same time.

This is an incredible coincidence because I happen to be working on one at the moment. I'm not sure when I'll be done, but /vr/ will be the first to know.

I think it'd be easier to rip the assets and make your own version (and I don't mean that shitty remake mod)

I don't understand why people don't do that for the Mega CD Shadowrun instead of trying to hack an already broken game.

Mega CD rom hacks are very rare.

Are you talking about the remake on Dragonfall engine? Impressive work but still pretty bad experience desu, should have just been a campaign with the plot from SNES game instead of poor gameplay emulation.

Is that a reason to do it?
The game shouldn't be that complicated to recreate aside from the FMV hacking. Most of it is command selection and multiple choice, Dungeons and combat are top down and the Shadowrun rules are well known.

Not a hack, but someone made an emulator script for Shadowrun that gives it mouse controls in SNES 9XRR. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMCH3osL8bw

>>7139993
>UPDATE: There is not a version of the script compatible with the German language version of the game:

Neat. Are you able to share any details? Intended goals? Will it be just the base game with expanded areas or an entirely new campaign using the same assets?

I'm a really big fan of the SNES game engine but there's only so many times you can play the game to completion before you get tired of talking to the same NPCs / exploring the same maps.

Did you ever play the SNES game with any of its translations?

No, just had the NA copy back in the day.
Heard other versions had some... minor differences, though.

That's fucking cool to hear, I've always wanted more of the game.

>> No.7147552

iirc there is a mod that lets you actually buy the body armor that is never for sale in the secret weapons shop

Other than that, nothing I've heard. It sure was a kickass game, though. I'd love to play a re-enactment of Johnny Mnemonic or something.
