Didn't see one on the catalog. Post your yard sale/flea market/thrift shop pickups for the weekend.

same here. I'm tempted to knock up my girlfriend just so I can make use of all the baby toys and infant clothes than make up the ENTIRETY of the sales around my area

Same here. I have been to dozons of yard sales. Here's a break down.

I always like there's that one overly optimistic /vr/ bro who wants to advertise to everyone there is hope in these shit holes, that one day you will find that coveted NIB Earthbound or Hagane for $5, but I've spent too many empty handed searches to know why we ultimately end up shelling the $100+ price tag.
If you're a "picker" or somebody who just LIVES for the hunt, I understand why you enjoy it, but for anybody who just wants to build up their retro library, its two parts chore, two parts costs and ten parts time. Ultimately, you might be better of shelling out the $30-$40 for Super Mario RPG instead of hoping to find it for $5-$20 at some thrift or flea market. Lord forbid you're looking for something like genesis games, which are reasonably had even online.

Lets not even talk about retro game stores.

SO MUCH BABY SHIT.
If I ever have kids he's going to be riding around in garage sale strollers, shit always brand spanking new, sometimes with the box. It's scary how easy it is to find baby stuff.

Babies grow fast, can't be helped. If you had a kid you'd be desperately trying to rid yourself of baby shit as well

As a french fag from Lille, I just can't wait to be at the beginning of september for the Braderie de Lille.

The town basically becomes a giant market where everyone can sell anything.

Last year, I've bought a vectrex game for 1€ , a N64 with 4 controllers and 3 games (mario , mario kart & tetris) for 20€, the japanese versions of MvC2 and RE CV for 1€ each...

I missed some great stuff because I was broke last year, but I'm gonna come with a hundred euros this year, gonna be great.

Sounds like someone who makes a living by selling over-priced games to people who never leave the house.

>Who never leaves the house and re-sells over priced games
Or has a job, makes a decent income, has spent the time looking for such "treasures", has other hobbies that are time consuming, is a collector, not a reseller, and has ultimately decided there are better things to do than picking through people's trash.

Learn to generalize.

>> No.714685

I've tried searching around garage sales and shit and never found fucking anything. Ultimately realized I spent more time and money driving around looking for this shit then I would have just spending the extra 15 bucks online.

I still hop into thrift stores since I don't go to them exclusively for gaming, but stalking yard sales for a weekend is a massive waste of time.

If you know what it's like, you probably also know the exhilarating feeling of finding something you really like, maybe something you didn't ever expect to find. You just don't get that when you buy something on the internet.
Of course, you shouldn't go to a yard sale/flea market/whatever hoping to find exactly what you want and exactly when you want it. But there are things to be found. Most postings in this thread are just excuses for being lazy.

All I ever find are dirty ps2 cases, the occasional pc floppies and sports games galore. The rest is usually just sugarcoated junk and knick knacks that of which you would find in old basements.
How you can even find solid stuff let alone good deals is alien to me, but maybe it's just europe being europe.

There's this flea market in my area that has two areas devoted to retro games.
There's this shack that's filled to the brim with Nintendo consoles/games/controllers the works.
then there's this section in this old cafeteria (the flea market used to be an old theme park) and it's got a shitload of gameboy and ps1 games.
Haven't gone for a long time, might go this weekend if my income tax gets done processing.

If I want something specific I kind of have to do that, I'm not putting all my eggs in the finding a copy of Shining Force III CiB for 5 dollars in a pawn shop basket.

Seconded.

This shit is absolutely everywhere, on par with crash bandicoot: wrath of cortex cases.
It's ridiculous how many of these there are.

Bleh, no yard sailing for me this weekend. Just got finished dealing with the pawn shop, and I ain't looking to go back. Next paycheck should be pretty good, so we'll see.

At least tomorrow I'm checking out 2 sales and a flea market. Gonna be a much better selection.
