Both are clones (well as much as something can be made by the same company can be a 'clone') I mean if you didn't catch that they were making obvious Banjo parallels all over the place to highlight the contrast with the adult stuff I don't even know what to say.
I mean hell, they literally showed their corpses in the menu screen to really drive the point home.

Favorite video game for over almost 20 years. IMO it is a perfect video game and I must appeal to my narcissism and insist on the objective truth in that statement.

Best SP. Best MP. Tastefully self-aware, yet earnestly genuine. It's the ultimate jack-of-all-trades for the medium.

A video game in every sense of the word. Rare's true magnum opus.

The Xbox version will always be interesting and impressive, but ultimately the inferior version.

DK64 was definitely not BKs clone.
BT however very obviously tries to bring DK64 elements into the Banjo universe, which ultimately is the reason why the game is so bad.

Fun game with lots of funny bits but everyones a jaded nhilist these days so they think its cool to shit on this.

It streamlines some stuff from banjo and being able to change into different creatured added to it.
