What are the oldest videogame forums that are still around? I want to read what people thought of old games back when they were released

I always go to gamefaqs seems like the best and oldest there are reviews for games even older then the site but obviously not when they initially released.

Gamespot and IGN were around during 5th gen. I think you'd have to look at newsgroup archives to go back further.

alt.games.nintendo.pokemon is actually one of the oldest English language Pokemon communities on the internet, despite Bulbagarden claiming to be the oldest, and people actually still post there occasionally.

Retrogaming Roundtable has been around for a while, and is probably one of the oldest existing forums focused on older games as older games.

Fake. Nigger-posting didn't start until around 2004.

Usenet has discussion/reviews on Atari 2600 games when they were new in like 1982. Look for groups like net.video. It used to be easy to find this shit before Google broke their usenet archive (they call it "groups") and made it near impossible to search. The entire UTZOO usenet corpus is on archive.org so you can bypass google and go to the source at least and download the original "tapes".
