I like this game, but it's janky as hell. If you want a REAL Goemon experience, pop in Goemon's Great Adventure instead. It's a beyond solid sidescroller.

And I've always maintained, even on this board, that MNSG is fun but flawed. It's certainly not better than any Zelda game on the system, though.

Gga isn't good either, 30fps, sketchy hitboxes and tedious minigames you have to do in the towns.

The clockwork knight games are actually pretty cool and Little Ralph is an okay platformer too, no need to hate or dislike one set of games just because you like another one better. Although I do think GGA is the best 5th gen sidescroller and it isn't even close, it's the hardest one as well.

Most of the answers for PS1 is usually the same stuff everytime: MGS, FF7, the list goes on. Ironically, any variety there may be in PS1 lists is often filled up with multiplats (often worse version too).
It's undeniable that you're potentially able to mix up more variation with PS1 than with N64 as it has multiple more games in its library, but people often always pick the same group of games no matter the system. It's the most popular games that stick the most. Anyone can be a hipster and pick some (actually great) japan-only or lesser known N64 games that people usually don't post, but most people will go for the most well known ones.

Even without console warring in mind, this is a great game on its own, one of the best 3D platforming-adventures of 5th gen period.
I was never a console warrior and I actually wanted to like the 3D Goemon game on PS1, went into it thinking I'd be playing something similar to MNSG... boy I was wrong.

Great game, you can see plainly how inspired Ocarina of Time was by it. Shame it was deprived the credit it rightfully deserved. I prefer Great Adventure over Mystical Ninja, simply because I prefer 2D platforming and stages like Frog Mountain are actual masterpieces of level design. Not sure why Zelda fans would feel intimidated by it, it's a goofy popular mostly Japan-exclusive series but a very influential one nonetheless. Zelda might have done it too, but Goemon obviously did it first. No one's going to take away your Zelda game, it's still going to be one of the most praised games of all time.
