Hindsight is 20/20 and as someone who's only known the final design, it's really hard to imagine Lammy ever reaching the (admittedly still moderate) popularity and fondness she carries 20 years later with any of the older designs. However, I can also totally understand Greenblat's feelings about having to scrap everything so often and regularly, especially with how the other characters like Katy and Sunny and Parappa himself were apparently pretty much one-and-done things.

For some continued autist-thought spewing: maybe it's just me but it's really hard to imagine the older designs speaking and behaving the way the final Lammy does, and I'd imagine they had her personality and actions (and thus the script) penned before the art. They're more sheep-like, but they're too cheery, too bright; their smile is too wide and eager. Final (well, final other than hair color) Lammy's visible eyelids more easily play into her various anxious expressions and makes her appear even more panicked when they're wide open. Even in general silhouette, she turned out better. The first designs have the most visual noise entirely around the detailed sneakers (even more detailed than Parappa's). Her triangular or pizza shaped heads are too close to Katy's croissant-head, especially with the eyes that are also basically just Katy's, and makes it look like she's one of those babies with the fluid-skulls in a few designs. The final design removes a lot of the noise- no torn jeans, plain slip-on sneakers instead of hi top Chuck Taylors- and gives her an overall hourglass type shape with wide feet, a narrower torso (which is still overall thicker than Katy's or her own first concepts), and a wider (but not angular) head, with your attention naturally drawn to her face. The eyes are the window to the soul, so they say, and her eyes are pretty unique among Parappa character designs. I do like that her chunky green wrist watch was there in every iteration of the design.

Well, it's a book on guitar, not bass or drums, so no. There aren't really anything in the way of tabs there, only traditional sheet music. There's a long piece of sheet music at the end of Millennium Girl, I can't read it though so I dunno if there are bass and drums there, but probably not. There's sheet music in one of the guidebooks though, and that likely contains the entire thing needed to play the song properly.

The guide is stuck on fandom in .webp format. It's a pain to try to download that and have it on its own. And who knows what compression fandom does when you upload something? The original .png files should be uploaded to archive in a cbz format (zip file renamed) as that's the best format for book scans.
