I actually want one (to play) just because I really like smb2, but no way in hell I’m paying $50 for a ton that’s almost 40 years old. If there was a way I could play it on my gba there’d be no reason for me to buy this though

This is 2020 not 1980. Inflation. Look it up. If it was made out of metal it would cost 130 dollars at least before tax.

When it was released no one even noticed nor cared. Now that people started talking about it the scalpers bought them all. LOL.

Honestly, this isn't even worth it. A watch that can play 3 rom files from NES? LOL

Might as well just get one of those fami clones and play them like that. I was tempted to buy it to mod it. But with so little memory? It's not really worth it. Maybe for $20-$30 ish. Why not? But for $50? Nintendo kids will buy anything lol It's That legend of zelda warriors game all over again.

I'm not sure who the target demographic is as, Battery will eventually fail & not user serviceable- long term collectability (ala gameboy) is non existent due to the battery eventually taking a fat shit

i sold my neogeoXgold for this very reason

how is a product made in 2020 worse than the original? (replaceable watch batteries and insane battery life)

You could run the Lost Levels ROM on an NES emulator, or play the Famicom Mini ROM.
I'd recommend using another device like the 3DS or PSP if you'd want to play this game, since the GBA's resolution is much smaller than the NES's that the game needs to be downrezzed

>> No.7089061

>>7088995
Oh yeah nothing going to stop people form trying to get doom running on it, but the processing power and storage would require so much hardmodding to make it anywhere close to worthwhile as a portable emulator that you might as well just be trying to make a pi fit inside the case instead.

its definitely a rip off considering what the NES mini got you, but ive always wanted to hold/own a game and watch, and its nice to be able to play mario 1 and 2 on it instead of just ball.

It was released on GBA as part of the NES Classic Series. Only in Japan, but that shouldn't be a problem

I hope it gets hacked, it seems like a comfy way of playing GB/GBC/NES roms. If it gets hacked I'll see if I can get one, if it doesn't get hacked or I can never get one easily before Nintendo stops producing I won't cry about it either.

>> No.7091509

It's nothing but pure tat that Nintendo know will sell out because of it's hardcore fanbase and many scalpers. The most value it'll have is if it's hackable like the mini NES/SNES.

> Year 0: Novelty, pay the full price.
> Year 7 : Remade, sold along with 3 to 4 other games, costs less than the original.
> Year 14: Made portable, sold along with another game, modes added, costs less than the original.
> Year 15 - 34 : Sold as is (as seen on year 0) on nearly all of the Nintendo systems, at outrageous prices, sometimes that rom comes from unofficial sources.
> Year 35 : Come on guys, it's my anniversary !! Pay me 50 fucking bucks to replay the same shit, on a bad resolution & ratio shitty little screen.

I also want to add, near 2009, I sold on Amazon to one of the Nintendo EU divisions a loose PAL SMB Deluxe for the GBC.
Why the fuck would they go as far as uncovered to buy such a mass produced and oversold game on such a large platform as AMZ is, idk, especially when that BIG N division was located in/near a city that has dozens of videogame shops selling that same LOOSE copy of SMBD.
To give that cartridge to the US/JP division so they can put the rom on the eshop at the time?
I still wonder to this day.

This makes me want to ask: Is there any "mini" console worth buying?
I was thinking of buying the the Genesis and Turbografx since I never played any of them.
I'm thinking it's basically paying for someone setting the emulator for me + the controller; however they're already hacked so I can add my own ROMs.
