Right? Metroid II is amazing, once you make up your mind and stop comparing it to Super Metroid, it's a great game.
I reccommend playing it on Super Gameboy.

Finished FF8 recently. The Junction system is fun and unique, but broken. I'd like to see Square take another crack at it.

Working on Zelda 2 right now. Not nearly as difficult as people make out.

Been on a kick trying to complete anything I hadn't as a kid, which due to a horrendous attention span, appears to be anything longer than 3 hours (or basically anything that isn't a standard NES/SNES era platformer I guess)

Just beat Super Metroid, excluding originally "beating" Super from a rented copy saved in Tourian, Metroid II was the only one I actually made it through. I own all the other ones to do eventually, too.

I might go for LttP next, since I just have a bit of Zelda 1 to go (somehow I've beaten all the other dungeons but missed a Triforce piece.)

As far as RetroGames are concerned, I played through Donkey Kong Country a week or two ago after reading a thread about it here. I'm also going through Persona 1, albeit the PSP edition (I played through the PS1 version a few years ago; I'm running through this to refresh me on the story before I head into Innocent Sin).
