I enjoyed the sonic levels and hated everything else except the soundtrack. The overworld was annoying as fuck. The unskippable cutscenes were heinous even to a 10 year old me. The core gameplay of every character other than Sonic is a complete chore and blatant padding for time. Hotter/Colder is Knuckle's gameplay? Really?
I hated 1 so much I never bought 2. Never even pirated it. If it weren't for my friend buying it on the gamecube years later I never would have played it. Fuck Sonic Adventure.

It's not well crafted at all but still incredibly fun. Also has this weird angsty feel to it because it's a Sonic game trying to be "mature" so the game has some realistic graphics and a bunch of RPG elements. I'd recommend it to anyone just for how insanely weird it is. I think I'd become a Sonic fan if they made more games like it.
