I spent so much time on the SNES I don't really know much about the Genesis. I've only played a handful of Shmups, Dynamite Headdy, and Toejam and Earl.

What am I missing out on? Where do I start with this library lads?

Comic zone is an absolute classic. Vectorman is bretty güd. By default you have the sonic the hedgehog games, also good. Streets of rage one and two are the beat em up pick of my girlfriend and I.

Landstalker, Shinobi 3, Gunstar Heroes Sonic 3&K, Vector Man, Shining Force 1-2, Rocket Knight 1-2, and World of Illusion are all good starting places, and the list unironically goes on afterwards.

Alien Soldier, Shinobi 2/3 Rolling Thunder 2/3 and Vectorman are good action games. The Sonic series, Aero the Acrobat and Ristar are great platformers, too.

Don't forget to play the Shining Force series and Phantasy Star IV.

Don't forget to play Road Rash 2. It's a bike racing game where you can beat your opponents with clubs and chains.

DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU LIKE. My personal essential titles for the Genesis are Castelvania: Bloodlines, Vectorman, Shadowrun, Beyond Oasis, and Wonderboy IV: Monster World IV

Shinobi is good too. Its challenging i thought. They ported Doom to the genesis but you need a 32X abortion to mount on top of it.

>> No.7003848

>>7003225
Doom 32X is the worst port by far. It's certainly not worth the effort. At that point, he may as well play PSX Doom, because at least that has major atmospheric changes. Speaking of challenging, OP should play The Chaos Engine.

On the top of my head:

Sanic

Streets of Rage
Golden Axe
Comix Zone
Kid Chameleon
Quackshot

Thanks anon. I heard that soldering is required and I needed to know what kind of battery I needed. I'll also have to fix the disc tray itself as it seems to struggle to mount the disc properly for some reason.

sega genesis was underrated af

also compatible with master system if you have a flashcart (backwards compatible hardware baked in and no need for the expensive power conversion kit)

Model 1 cds can be weird. Make sure you follow the bios instructions. Reset to eject, once it's ejected drop the cd into place. Press start, it'll close and read, press start one more time to play.

Just because you and your friends were still playing the Mega Drive, doesn't mean that everyone else was, you dumb cyka blyat. Many kids and teenagers in my Sega-dominated country wanted to sell their old 16-bit consoles after the Sega Saturn and PlayStation were released. They wanted Crash Bandicoot and Tomb Raider, not Sonic 2 and Super Mario World. At that time, they were old news.

It does that no problem, problem is the disc won't spin unless I shake the system a little bit, might be something inside interfering with the mechanism I'll need to dislodge or maybe give it a fresh belt or whatever.
