Doom 32X is the worst port by far. It's certainly not worth the effort. At that point, he may as well play PSX Doom, because at least that has major atmospheric changes. Speaking of challenging, OP should play The Chaos Engine.

Thanks anon. I heard that soldering is required and I needed to know what kind of battery I needed. I'll also have to fix the disc tray itself as it seems to struggle to mount the disc properly for some reason.

Model 1 cds can be weird. Make sure you follow the bios instructions. Reset to eject, once it's ejected drop the cd into place. Press start, it'll close and read, press start one more time to play.

It does that no problem, problem is the disc won't spin unless I shake the system a little bit, might be something inside interfering with the mechanism I'll need to dislodge or maybe give it a fresh belt or whatever.
