i have no idea what it’s called but it was for Dreamcast and it was a first person sword game and the gimmick was the sword was possessed or something and you can bodyjump between different characters who have different stats. It was fun.

There's not too much to Pipe Dreams but it's pretty fun. Comfy little low-poly puzzler.

TechnicBeat is a game I picked up just from looking at the box a couple of years ago, I had never, ever heard of it. It is amazing. One of the coolest rhythm games I've ever played, with a ton of depth.

I'll give ya something even more obscure.
The game wants you to use a mini skateboard attachment that goes on top of both the left and right analog sticks to control the movement and tricks in order to fight ghosts. I thought it was terrible to play but apparently my pal has found that it has fighting game level of inputs.
I can at least respect the idea and the gorgeous artstyle.

That's Chase The Express, released towards the end of the PS1's life cycle, 2000 wasn't quite "prime hype levels" for Resident Evil though. The original trilogy had come and gone and the movie was still 2 years away.
