It's easier to have an adventure when you don't have people you're expected to be directly subservient to.
Remember, it's a Japanese kid's series. Don't want your protagonist coming off as a delinquent or parents coming off as irresponsible. Having a looser family connection allows for wiggle room and I'm talking out of my ass but kinda want to see how far into this you bought

In DQ5 you both have parents and become a parent (and have your wife and kids as your main party members). It's considered the best JRPG ever made for a reason.

Most the characters from OoT are reused in Majora's Mask except for but Link isn't.

If you talk to Anju's Grandmother at the Stockpot inn, she mistakes you for her son Tortus and reads you bedtime stories.
If you talk to her with the Kafei mask, she mistakes you for the Mayor (Kafei's father) as a young boy.

So Link technically has a mother in Majora's mask, and not only that, but he has a Daughter and a wife

>who is Merlin's father
>who is King Arthur's father
>who is Luke's father?
>why is Link left handed also?

It's a thing. Just do your own research. Heros like Lancelot were left handed of which meant, like the south paw in boxing, they win due to being unexpected. Link is the mysterious unexpected left handed hero. It's a tradition cliche kinda thing.

Also him not choosing his fate yet charging forwards is a cliche kind of thing too that Luke would do or Arthur would do. Another example is Inheritance cycle, whO iS ErAgOn's fAtHeR?

It's a thing.

Shit thread.

Speaking of boxxing, Rocky comes to mind on this. He doesn't even win but tries, such courage, wow.

The hearts are all about willpower and and virtues and things and they even have Rocky go left handed after all. Destiny calls to him and he charges forward and wins despite being pathetically outmatched and after initially losing. Such shit is what makes things easily epic. Typical. It makes it easier to relate also.

Cliches.

Isnt that part of the hero's backstory? an orphan inherits the triforce of courage. plus in all those games i believe link is adopted. Aryll not related to link, her grandmother adopts link as a small child. that all just might be head canon, I dont know, but nintendos official canon is so fucked up and full of plot holes that it doesnt really matter

He comes from a mysterious background where you cannot PROVE who his father is? Eragon's father is 'revealed' too but realistically you cannot KNOW where the bastard came from.

It's a thing.

They even just reused it for Gay of Thrones.

Stupid ass.

You're not funny. Pretending to be retarded isn't clever either.

The mystery element is part of why the thing sticks. You're not meant to really trust it. Sometimes revealed, sometimes not. Allows for insertion while also just a mystery element. Depends on how it goes.

The leading theory is that left handed kids are such insufferable cunts that parents either give them up at birth or just an hero out of shame. This predisposition of lefties being ridiculous custns would explain anons shitpost.

>> No.6988108

I've always felt Link had a sort of mysterious birth, almost like the Gods materialized him into the world to be the one that keeps Ganon from having a one-way uncontested experience in trying to rule the world. Like a hopeful figure that represents an extreme thorn in Ganon's side to force Ganon to EARN his role as domineering master of the realms.

I already explained it to you. Left handed swordsmen are more dangerous because low class soldiers were used to only fighting right handed swordsmen. The shield hand is there to block mostly right handed attacks, but with a courageous left handed attacker, as he will be open to attacks more too, he can win if lucky.

It's some cliche that started a long time ago, probably lancelot shit or something, but it's a cliche so it doesn't really matter.

>>6987752
It varies for an obvious reason. People don't want to already know exactly how the story is going to go, but they still prefer the theme.

So instead of the Survey that said FF7 was the 2nd greatest game ever released on a Playstation console, You'd rather have my personal oppinion?
My personal oppinion being that FF7 is a rushed mess that could have built up it's story a lot better and wouldn't even make top 10 on my list of best games on playstation.

You do realize that when you move a goalpost you're supposed to move it FARTHER AWAY?
