Issun tells you every step of the puzzle you would have wanted to figure out for yourself
That's true.
But then every puzzle also disables the final step of the solution until you trigger an unprompted barely related event to the puzzle, the game always expects you to just figure that out for yourself.

Cutter House? Issun tells you exactly how to break in and drag a old man into the moonlight, But the game won't let you do that even when it's telling you to do it until you travel across the map and talk to some bird guards about their princess.

Looking the for the guardian dogs? The game tells you exactly where to find the dog, but he won't be physically there until you talk to another bird guard that mentions seeing a dog there.

This was a critically acclaimed game in 2006.

They are structurally worlds apart. TP paces itself like a JRPG, the different field regions work like continents in a world map. The game contrives some plot relevance to a given region to give you an excuse to go there, gives you specific tasks one at a time, and expounds in this way till it's filled. In OoT, the child timeline works somewhat like this, though you still have access to different parts. And when you're an adult, the game opens up as one cohesive map where the focus is completing certain tasks as opposed to charting it.

It didn't. None of the dungeons in Twilight Princess are as aesthetically compelling as most of OOT's temples. The original N64 version also has a way stronger and scarier atmosphere than any of TP's attempts at darkness. In general, OOT's world actually feels more soulful and mysterious. Like come on, Ordon Village has fucking nothing on Kokiri Forest.

TP's gameplay is generally much better but OOT has no underdeveloped wolf segments and is more challenging. I mean they didn't even try to make the enemies hard in TP, they barely attack and whenever they do they do like 1/4 or MAYBE 1/2 of a heart. Even Ganon does about that much damage, compared to OOT where he does 4 hearts. To be fair TPHD mitigated this with Hero Mode and the Ganondorf amiibo but the combat is still underutilized, especially given all the cool moves which all just kill nearly every enemy in one hit. The Ocarina of Time itself hopeleesly btfos the gay little wolf howls.

With some improvements TP could be amazing, as it stands it's still great but living in OOT's shadow.

Not that anon but I just beat Wind Waker today for the first time. Despite really liking it, it clearly felt rushed in ways other Zelda's didn't, even compared to Majora's mask.
>Lots of Things to do and See.
Idk if Id say there is a lot to see. Most islands are either one off puzzles, tiles to just hold a treasure spot/submarine but no puzzle, or god forbid one of those big square isle with the pillars. Those feel the most like padding outside of the Triforce Hunt. The one off puzzles, despite usually being piss easy, are cool the first time, and it does kind of feel like Breath of the Wild at first. But then once you realize there really isn't all that much out there the ocean does feel kinda small and padded. And you'll only go back to a place if you need the treasure from the chart. And the special events boil down to the big octopus once for the fairy and then every other time is just kinda that again and for less cool shit. The ghost ship happens like once for the triforce.
>Collect Hearts, Maps, songs, etc
Hearts I'll give you are always good. Maps were ok, usually I never went out of my way to find their treasure spot. I was just in the area because I had to sail somewhere and crossed over it. Also songs? Bro you get fucking 6, and the UI to play them is somehow way fucking worse than the instruments in Ocarina and Majora. It makes no sense to me why have these changeable tempos if there are 6 songs total. If anything the best thing to collect was all the power ups you could get out of order between the fairy islands and the Ice/Fire islands.
>You just suck at it.
This is the easiest Zelda I've ever played. Not saying that it wasn't fun still, but there is nothing to get good at. Link jumping and spinning mid combo fucked me a couple times, and the parry mechanic fucks up a lot by whiffing or rolling into something that hurts Link. And somehow using the bow and hookshot is all around worse than in Ocarina and Majora.

Isn't OOT the one you have to spend half the game as a gay ass kid?
see anyone can do it.

Only kind of true. you need bow and longshot to do quite a bit

It's no fun if there's no conflict, anon. People would just make boring "yeah, great game, I loved it" posts and the thread would die 15 posts in. We're not reddit after all.

TP is obviously superior though, so there isn't that much to discuss.

If you have to play retro Zelda, you go with 3. Otherwise you can just play Genshin Impact.

saying it's better than OOT is debatable but am sure we can all agree it's the best Zelda game on the Gamecube

The worst Zelda game was Wind Waker if you were (like myself) one of the kids screaming your lungs out from the E3 trailer that showed Link fighting Ganon, only to be greeted by a game with cartoon designs for 3yo kids

but you surely grew up and realized that that is an infantile complaint for tryhard teens, right?

You can actually see shit and can do way more than just flail yourself around, but you must cope.

>> No.6993293

Wind Waker basically 3-dimensionalized the spritework for Link To The Past and I don't ever see people commend it for this

if you werent such a smooth brain, you'd see that I was arguing that calling something "gay-ass" is one of the worst arguments someone can come up with. In Okami, you play as a gay ass wolf the whole time according to people who dont like it. but I digress, this is 4chan after all

>> No.6993571

>>6992089
Not really, since it turned out that the game also played like a game designed for 3yo kids.

>> No.6993674

Nope. TP is amazing, but it doesn't replace OoT. Both are pretty different games. TP isn't a remake or remaster
