I thought it only beeps if the batteries in the VMU are empty.
I wouldn't know bought mine used and never not heard the BEEEEEEEEEP.

It grows on you.
Like that one weird tick that friend of yours has.
Feels like being at home.

Why does my white VMU sound different to the black one when it beeps?

The VMU has a calculator CPU. You're not going to port much of anything to it.

Not everyone has had a Dreamcast so they might assume this is an exaggeration but it really isn't. IIRC there is no way to switch it off, it just goes into a low power state which isn't all that low power.

The VMU is kinda cool in its own way though. The treasure beeping in Skies of Arcadia was good, and I remember the health meter in RE being useful. People who were into the SA raising mini-game seemed to really love it. You can even connect two of them together to trade save files across.

why does the dreamcast sound like the laser is cutting a hole through the disc

>> No.6982642

VMUs beeping was the most annoying shit for a while. I used to have batteries in there and they'd constantly die or they wouldn't make good enough contact or something because I'd set the date on the damn thing and it'd be back to square one with it doing that loud ass beep and losing it all. Eventually I said fuck it and just stopped putting batteries in my VMUs. A shame really, but at least I played that neat chao minigame from SA1.

i would love to but the fact that sonic adventure 2 + chao garden + chao adventure 2 take up almost 200 blocks i’d have to sacrifice all of my saves or buy a dedicated sonic vmu
god the vmu games take up a stupid amount of storage
