Never occurred. This is a myth Sharters have pushed because they think their experience is the whole worlds. No, Atari taking a shit didn't crash anything. Gaming was alive and well all over the world. And it was this humble piece of hardware that carried it on it's shoulders. Literally tens of thousands of games were made for it and were affordable for everyone. It carried gaming through the storm.
