Just bought an RGB modded "AV famicom." Gonna hook it up to my CRT. What games should I play? (besides pic related which is my favorite game ever)

It's such a great game. My cousins left it at my house one day and never asked for it back.

Maze of Galious is the best game you never played. I found it randomly a month ago holy shit.

Try casltevania in composite first, it has awful background flickering dotcrawling when scrolling. See how rgb fixes that issue.

Where did you get a RGB modded AV Famicom? GameTech.US refuses to do mods and repairs for over half a decade now.

ebay, from canada. Worked out to be ~$200 usd. I know I could have modded one myself but I'm just no good at soldering and stuff. Cool thing is it's got a component YPbPr transcoder so I can hook it up to my toshiba 27a41 via component video in conjunction with the standard av cable for audio. Pretty stoked!

Maybe I should have asked "what are the NES/famicom games with the most dazzling graphics?

Don't be disingenuous. $200 is a very reasonable price for an RGB-modded AV Famicom. That's not much more than the cost of doing it yourself, and that's assuming you already have the tools.

I cannot solder either. No equipment nor technical ability. Looks like the job alone is over $200USD not including the parts now, so you got a great deal. Unlike Canada, Kijiji is not available in my country, so the classifieds around here are from the local paper, so I'll have to save up to post for the help. Anyway have fun with the Famicom, there's so many great games for it.

Nothing too out there, it's all the common stuff you'd expect. Titles from Capcom, Konami, Natsume, Tecmo, Technos, Sunsoft, etc. I'd say maybe God Slayer and Gordic Gaiden is a great place to start as those two are pretty standout fun. Zanac is a great Compile shooting game, so maybe give Recca and Crisis Force a shot.

Nice collection, so aesthetic. Crisis Force is awesome, was playing it earlier today. It's got pretty impressive graphics for 8 bit.
