There's also a NEC visual adventure protagonized by Tenchi, where one of the possible ways to die is by talking to Mihoshi during a specific moment and selecting a specific possible answer to one of her questions, which she misinterprets as a love confession (she's drunk at that moment) and proceeds to have (implied) sex with Tenchi until she accidentally kills him.
Every time you die you are sent to a screen where Tsunami brings Tenchi back to life and gives him some game related advice, but if you die on this specific way, she has a different expression and chides Tenchi because he already knows Mihoshi and so he already should know that selecting that specific course of actions and words wouldn't have ended well.

I only know /m/ shit and haven't watched enough from the 60s to give recommendations but for 70s my suggestions are, in no particular order
Plot-driven stuff, sometimes with some MotW elements:
>Space Battleship Yamato (only the first 26 episodes it jumps the shark in season 2)

>Zambot 3 (it's more MotW in the first half but becomes very plot-driven later on)
