I would choose oblivion over this existence!
>The choice is not yours.
I am destroyed!

The birth of one of Kain’s abominations traps the essence of life. It is this soul that animates the corpse you ‘lived’ in. And that Raziel, is the demise of Nosgoth. There is no balance. The souls of the dead remain trapped. I can not spin them in the wheel of fate. They can not complete their destinies.

Redeem yourself. Or if you prefer, avenge yourself. Settle your dispute with Kain. Destroy Him and your brethren. Free their souls and let the wheel of fate churn again. Use your hatred to reave their souls... I can make it possible. Become my soul reaver, my angel of death...

I think if you were to tell a Christian that a pixel man throwing crosses at Frankenstein was a glorification of their religion they'd be a little offended.

I like the Castlevania aesthetic myself, but doesn't mean I think the religion is 'cool'.
- - -
There are no "Christian" games because the religion's themes really aren't fit for gaming. The only fighting that ever happens in the bible is in the old testament where Moses and the Jewish Warrior kings lead the Jews on campaigns to subjugate rival tribes. But New Testament is about a Rabbi giving a sermon on a hill and then being persecuted.

Something like the Greek religion lends itself more easily to gaming since the characters are constantly fighting or going on adventures. The very concept of a 'hero' going on an 'odyssey' comes from them.

So the most you can do with Christianity is something superficial where stick a bunch of crosses on the pixel warriors.

>I like the Castlevania aesthetic myself, but doesn't mean I think the religion is 'cool'.
what you think doesn't matter, the developers thought it looked cool and appealing so they went with it and it worked.

>There are no "Christian" games because the religion's themes really aren't fit for gaming
Wherever there are good and beautiful themes there will be an overlap with Christianity. i.e conforming to objective moral truths, martyrs out of love, fighting for what is right, protecting the weak, destroying evil, being honest, being generous, overcoming temptations, being free from lust and pettiness, following a higher order and not just your subjective feelings, good vs evil is a timeless theme, pursuit of wisdom and having faith in the unseen, power of prophecy, etc, all these are noble christian themes and heroic games with heroic characters will promote them.

>So the most you can do with Christianity is something superficial where stick a bunch of crosses on the pixel warriors.

It means that you can't know even if someone were to tell you. It's about not having faith. It's about seeing faith as a synonym for delusion. dude i know what you were trying to do, stop being disingenuous. Any time there was violence or heroism in the Bible you want to ignore it or twist it into something negative. Anytime there is passivity and love you want to exaggerate it. Cherry picking until your fingers turn red. Either you don't understand the scope of Christianity, it's themes and values, or you do understand it and are being deceptive.

I already talked about violence. There is PLENTY of violence in the old testament. The Jews are always at war. But there is almost none in the new testament. You sound like you are not familiar with the your own religion.

>My response showed how Christian themes can appear in gaming just fine
No it doesn't, it should have been obvious. You could replace the Belmont's cross with a Muslim Crescent, or a boomerang, and it would be exactly the same. You could change it's theme to another religion or strip out all religious elements and it would be the same game. The themes you are talking about are things you imagined onto it. You could imagine them just as well if the character was non-religious. Because the Christian elements are superficial and not relevent. In fact they are so trivial in some versions of casltevania games they even remove the religious elements and the game still hold up fine.

So why discount the OT in favor of the NT? and act as if the sermon on the mount negates any of the old testament?
We don't view one scripture as superior or more authentic than the other. So when you said: ""There are no "Christian" games because the religion's themes really aren't fit for gaming. The only fighting that ever happens in the bible is in the Old Testament.... But New Testament is about a Rabbi giving a sermon on a hill and then being persecuted."" you reveal your ignorance about the status of the OT and the NT and who God is in the Christian worldview. Jesus didn't negate any righteous violence that God commanded in the OT. And the NT has plenty of violence if you actually read it. The most violent book of the bible is Revelation/Apocalypse of John, where Jesus comes back and kills millions.

Have you read the sermon? Everything gets turned upside in the New Testament. Most of the old testament is an artifact with irreconcilable philosophical differences. They also have irreconcilable ideas about the afterlife. There's none in the old testament. The Old Testament is a different religion entirely. Sort of like how the New Testament is part of Islam, even though Islam is an entirely different religion with irreconcilable differences to the Old and New Testament.

>The most violent book of the bible is Revelation/Apocalypse of John, where Jesus comes back and kills millions.
True enough. It's a very different book.

Come to think I take it back. You can get Christian action game stuff provided you lean heavily towards Revelation.

This is what the Muslims would say if you told them that the bible is NOT irreonciable with the Quaran.

You do know that many early Christians do not even want the Old Testament to be cannon? Amoung them was Paul of Tarsus.

They they solved it is that whenever there is a contradiction between the old and the new testament the new testament takes prescidence. Old Testament has no after-life, New Testament does, so there is an after-life. Old Testament says the Jews are the only human. New Testament says God loves all races, so god loves all races.

The Muslims do another thing. If the New testament says something agains the Quoran, the Quoran is always right.

>Have you read the sermon? Everything gets turned upside in the New Testament. Most of the old testament is an artifact with irreconcilable philosophical differences.
1. the Sermon on the Mount doesn't turn the violence of the OT "upside down" and doesn't abrogate it. So this doesn't help your case at all. The OT agrees with everything in the Sermon on the Mount, it's not a new invention. God always preferred peacemakers, the humble, the lowly, the faithful, the meek, and he preferred forgiveness.
2. The only thing that the NT ''abrogates'' from the Old Testament is the dietary, ceremonial, & sacrificial laws the jews did to become ''clean''. When Christ became our substantive sacrifice those laws became fulfilled and their purpose complete. That's why Christians don't worry about doing animal sacrifices or abstaining from pig. But, all the moral laws are still intact and obligatory to Christians, the 10 commandments, punishing murderers, the sanctity of marriage, etc. And all the instances of righteous violence (ordered by God) in the OT are justified and 100% Christian approved.
3. If you read the NT you'll realize Christ tightened the screws on morality and made things even stricter, it's harder to divorce (he even said Moses made it easier for hebrews back then because they were weak), it's harder to be righteous, simply having hateful thoughts towards a brother is like murder, having lustful thoughts about a woman is adultery, regarding children he said: "but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea."

Yup that's Christians to a tee. It would be funny if they weren't so obnoxious that they literally deify a guy and then ignore just about every lesson he tried to teach. It's a power cult, not a morality system like they want you to believe. They're some of the worst people on earth.

Okay, so the Law of Moses still appl-
>But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. Early in the morning He went back into the temple courts. All the people came to Him, and He sat down to teach them. The scribes and Pharisees, however, brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before them and said, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such a woman. So what do You say? They said this to test Him, in order to have a basis for accusing Him. But Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with His finger. When they continued to question Him, He straightened up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to cast a stone at her. And again He bent down and wrote on the ground.
...WHAT.

So, yes, logically irreconcilable. Either OT applies and the poor girl snuffs it, or it does not in which case Jesus cannot actually be claiming to fulfill the laws of the Prophets in good faith.

wtf? You mean Marcione? Paul was 100% in favor of the OT and often quoted from it.

Marcione was the gnostic faggot who wanted to cherry pick the NT apart, only quoting what suited him, while also gutting the OT. lmao, you are so confused dude.

>This is what the Muslims would say if you told them that the bible is NOT irreonciable with the Quaran.
You're believe the bible and quran are totally reconcilable? I don't know what you mean or what this has to do with anything. If you said the bible and quran are ''reconcilable completely'' both Christians and muslims would disagree...

>They they solved it is that whenever there is a contradiction between the old and the new testament the new testament takes prescidence. Old Testament has no after-life, New Testament does, so there is an after-life. Old Testament says the Jews are the only human. New Testament says God loves all races, so god loves all races.
gibberish
the OT says all humans (jew and gentile) come from Adam and Eve, and it has prophecies about gentiles joining the covenant and becoming at peace with God. And the NT says gentiles will be the majority who take up faith, while the jews get dispersed for lack of faith, and that's what is happening etc.

That's not the sermon on the mount.
A trial would require not just the woman, but also the man she committed adultery with and the witnesses who saw it. The accusers remained silent when asked about their own sins and didn't offer any evidence besides hearsay. And when Jesus asked them to ''throw the first stone'' they all refused, knowing their accusations were disingenuous. That doesn't mean the punishment for adultery changed, it means that situation didn't meet the measure of the law.

>That's not the sermon on the mount.
I never said it was.
>A trial would require not just the woman, but also the man she committed adultery with and the witnesses who saw it.
I would say that, since we are talking about scribes and Pharisees, the trial is already assumed to have taken place. If you were reading a transcript of a jury deliberation in a secular, modern-day trial, your first reaction would *not* be "WAITWAITWAIT NOW WHO SAYS THERE'S BEEN A TRIAL YET!?". That's already assumed by any sane person.
>The accusers remained silent when asked about their own sins and didn't offer any evidence besides hearsay.
They remained silent because their own sins are (sadly) irrelevant: the woman is on trial, they are not. Try doing any of that "But who are you to judge me?!" bullshit next time you're in court. Go ahead. See if the bailiff doesn't jail you for contempt of court.
>And when Jesus asked them to ''throw the first stone'' they all refused, knowing their accusations were disingenuous.
The only objective fact is that they refused. The Bible claims this was all due to it being a test. Assuming any of this ever actually occurred, I'm pretty sure the gentlemen in question would vigorously dispute this conclusion.
>That doesn't mean the punishment for adultery changed, it means that situation didn't meet the measure of the law.
If the law says a woman judged guilty of adultery should have stones cast at her until being bludgeoned to death, and this is not done, then it has absolutely been changed.

>the moral law is timeless and doesn't change, the ceremonial/sacrificial laws were fulfilled. Go research covenant theology. You don't know what Christians believe.
More elaborate layers of bullshit on an already specious conclusion do not magically make it correct. Either a law was written, understood, and applied, or it was not. The reasons, be they good or bad, are irrelevant. You cannot profess to uphold laws you then disregard a short time later and maintain internally consistent logic. You would have to resort to some sort of Messianic handwaving. Which is what occurred.

No, you want to assume things that aren't in the text to fit your preconceived notion. It's possible there was some sort of jewish trial, maybe, or a mob justice type of event? We don't know for sure, the details aren't in the text. The fact that they went to Jesus for adjudication suggests something was unresolved or their intentions were not genuine and they wanted to trap Jesus in some legal scheme.
Don't forget Israel was under roman rule at the time, jews couldn't just execute a woman for adultery based on their laws alone, it's much more complicated than that, they also needed approval of the Roman law, which allowed execution of women for adultery, but on condition that they have a roman trial and the man she conspired with was also executed, the woman could not be executed alone, historians and roman lawyers like Quintillian and Seneca have repeated this roman ruling in writing.

What delights me about Trump is how his support by fundamentalist Christians in particular highlights that they're all hypocrites who probably haven't actually read the teachings of Jesus and certainly don't follow them. They mostly want wealth and power and to insist that women shouldn't be allowed to have abortions because fetuses are people even though Moses' laws laid out in Exodus explicitly contradict that. But of course that would mean paying attention to what their book actually says which they have zero interest in.

They're all charlatans who don't actually believe the bible, but on the off chance it was true they're all going to burn in their own Hell. Good times!

Exodus 21:22-25 states that the penalty of a man attacking a pregnant woman causing her to miscarry carries a penalty for the assault, but not the penalty of murder which would be applied if he killed an actual person. By definition it does not consider an unborn fetus to be a person in the sense that the religious right pretends it should.

>>6943383
That you dipshits pick and choose which parts of your supposedly infallible holy text to follow and which not to is comedy gold already. But even if you only took the New Testament as the "true" bits, most fundamentalist Christians act in a way that displays they don't actually care about anything Jesus said.

It's easier to push a camel through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven, but no one actually likes to hear that because what they really want is wealth and power in this world.

Fundamentalist Christians are some of the funniest people on earth. Full of empty rage and vengeance, praying to a demi-god who would boot them out of Heaven himself if he saw their true thoughts. Which if you actually believe... He does. :)
