The GameCube had a GBA attachment that let you play GBA games on TV. I can't think of any other reason. You can plug GameCube controllers into Wii.

If you have a bunch of Gamecube discs you probably should be using a gamecube just because I've heard horror stories about Wiis scratching the shit out of gamecube discs. Though getting 480p out of a gamecube is a lot pricier that using a Wii so even then its like, pick your poison.

Besides that though, just the gameboy player. The gameboy player is a great option for GBA and GBC games, but at the end of the day Nintendont does everything a GC Loader would do only better so for most people that's the best thing to use.

I have a modded Wii and a stock Gamecube, and if I have the game on disc usually I'll just play it on the gamecube. There's something so comfy about the original gamecube to me.

The Wii is pretty much objectively better on every single metric though, I've heard they've even recently fixed the component sharpness/colors looking shittier than the gamecube's but I haven't updated and tried that. If you're just buying into the GCN in 2020 you'd pretty much be crazy to not just go for a wii.

I have both and it's really not. Even side-by-side, the difference is subtle and hard to spot in most cases. If you're playing on a CRT I guarantee you'd never be able to tell the difference, and it's certainly not worth the crazy prices people are asking for GameCube component cables these days. To be fair I haven't tried the new HDMI adapters for the GameCube, but you can also HDMI mod a Wii and get identical quality anyway.

in my personal experience with friends and family, the wii is far more prone to various disk drive issues/faliures. Besides, all the games I want to play are on Gamecube, and the ones that aren't I can emulate. That being said, I might pick up a wii sometime so I can play PM. Also I think Gamecubes have a far better visual design that makes them look better on a shelf, as well as less cords because no sensor bar bs.
