I mean, there was some other questionable shit, but this is plain inaccurate. Quake 4 SP was more in line with CoD, while Doom 3 was more or less Quake 2+ by how it played.
Both were great arena shooters MP wise though.

Lol this. At this point it doesn't matter whether Sam started as a Duke knockoff or not. The series went on to BTFO Duke and become a better version of its progenitor. I'm looking forward to playing SS4 this fall while most people under the age of 30 only know Duke for the debacle that was DNF.
