Millennials:
>It's not fair why do boomers try to gatekeep 6th gen from being considered retro
Also Millennials:
>Fuck off PS360 + Wii are too modern, go back to /v/

>> No.6888132

6th genners are a weird bunch. They still think of themselves as younglings but are in fact fairly old already.
Their way to still feel young is to hide on /vr/, where they're technically the youngest demographic, but they dread the mention of 7th gen because they know these guys are the real new youth, and not them anymore.

Can relate. Growing up in the 2000s is people constantly telling you that you're some sort of new type of human just because you grew up with the internet and a calendar of years starting with the number 2. It creates a weird notion that you're forever this sort of magical young creature from the future (or at least, what your parents considered to be "the future").
Aging is pretty damn harsh, all of my friends, who are on my age group, are obsessed with aging, they're the kind of people who constantly look up pictures of celebrities and such and see how much they have aged to post the "JUST" meme, but what they're actually doing is trying to cope with the fact they're not teenagers anymore.

Millennial here and I'd probably say the only 6th gen consoles that are retro are the Dreamcast and the Game Boy Advance.

I'm with you, but we fucked it. I should have been united against, but I wasn't, and now the board is ruined.

If it makes you feel any better, users on /vr/ never had any voice or vote. 4chan isn't a democracy.
The simple fact is that a new mod got in charge of deciding what to do with /vr/, came up with some retard rules that don't make sense, and called it a day. Oh also, he doesn't really browses /vr/ anyway.

Sweet, then shit will get worse. I have a hard time browsing this board now. I do enjoy 6th gen, but that isn't why I came to /vr/. Absolutely terrible decision to include it.

>>6888157
That does make me feel better. It's still a shame seeing what the boards become, but at least I can know that I couldn't have prevented it.

GC was the console of my adolescence and I was flamed to death here when some years ago I mentioned that for me 5th gen isn't retro.

A "Millenial" is someone born between 1980 and 2000. Honestly culture and technology are so different across that time-span that of course someone who grew up in the 80's isn't going to have a whole lot in common with someone who grew up in the 00's, I think the biggest shift is someone who remembers a time when the internet and social networks weren't all-encompassing.

I'm one of the oldest regular posters here and the rule change is exactly what I wanted. The people complaining are mostly younger and weren't here to talk about games anyways.

1/10. There's more to trolling than just saying things everyone knows to be false.

It's completely true though. The people now bitching the hardest are the bernie posters, scotformer and console war trolls who shat up the board because it was slow. They never really wanted to talk about games, just force memes on a slow board.

It's autism. 6th gen is unironically the most autistic generation of all. They like GBA, Pokemon, Reddit, and actually want to become mods.

it's too old for me to find wii u and games but too new for sites to have actual iso downloads that don't take 3 days and fail at the end.
if either one of those was fixed, we'd have a clear determination of whether it's /vr/ or not.

I mean... they weren't wrong. My niece is literally unable to imagine a world without internet and cellphones. She was born in '00 and by all accounts is an adult person now. I remember tutoring her with math back when she was in mid school and we had a really weird exchange about checking it out in encyclopedia. For her that meant opening wikipedia, for me it was the book on the shelf right next to us. And it's not even some sort "young gen bad, old ways good" bullshit, but a simple observation of the technological jump of past 20-25 years

What else did you expect from allowing /v/tards here?
We could have get a /v2r/ for games released from 2000 onward, but nope, that would be logical and reasonable thing, that can't happen under gookmoot. So here we are, with /vr/ stretched out into some delusional chase after "retro", rather than being a board about pre-2000 games
