This. I can appreciate it on the 'was' level and wasted tons of my incel high school youth on it, but if use something faster these days and aren't running like a Pentium 166 you should use SNES9x.

It's so weird to feel nostalgic for a fucking emulator.
I wish I remembered the name of the game boy emulator that I found in 1999. It didn't really work, but just being able to boot up the japanese ROM of Pokemon Gold (2 years before it got released in the west) was just exciting on its own.

Was it SMGBY? I think that's the one I used to play a partially translated Japanese Gold ROM back in the day. Never found Kanto so that was a surprise when I got the English version. My favorite new Pokemon was DENRYU.

Impossible to tell, really, it was so long ago.
NO$GMB rings a bell but not sure.
All I remember is being excited as fuck, it felt like I was a hacker. Too bad I couldn't move the character around once the game started though, so that was the end of the adventure for me. Oh also, it was definitely not translated at all, partially or otherwise. It was just the japanese ROM.

First emulator I ever used, it was 2001 or so. Played a lot of Gundam Wing Endless Duel on that thing. Anyone who has bad things to say about it is outing themselves as underage and/or very gay

I put it on all the computers at school, the maintenance guy/IT dude who had a fucking engineering degree for some odd reason would kill time deleting it and all our ROMs so it became a game to hide them from him. He would leave text files when he would find them. Nice guy.

I achieved 60fps on a Pentium 166MMX. Having an MMX procesor made all the difference since the emulator supported it, on my previous P150 nonMMX I had 20fps.
Always talking about regular games, SFX and the sort were a lot more taxing.
