What's the best relatively cheap bluetooth controller for retro games? I've been considering getting either the 8bitdo mep or the retro bit Saturn controller.

I disliked the retrobit so much I returned it, so maybe try the 8bitdo? The controller just didn't feel anything like my OG jp saturn controllers.

>don’t feel like my Saturn controllers
So you’re saying your controllers sound more like they’re a part of the future of gaming?

M30 is the very best

I've really enjoyed the M30, though it comes with all the issues inherent to binding six buttons under xinput.

I have the 2.4GHz saturn one.
Love it... except when I play some combat games on MAME with it, because I realise it can input some time a Upper-Right instead of a Right.

Recently got the 8bitdo pro+
Thoughts
>not ergonomic enough. Uncomfortable after a couple hours
>dpad isn’t right. This is an issue with all of them.

I will use it the rest of the month then return it. The search goes on. Tbh I’m kind of interested in the new PlayStation controller

I hated the Retro-bit Saturn conroller so much. Cheap horrible pastic and rattlely buttons despite being more that $10 more expensive.

The M30 is so much better and much cheaper that it's a joke what Retro-bit is trying to get away with. I'm a bit of an 8-bitdo fan now and would recommened to everyone

I have the SNES and TGX-16 wireless controllers too and they're great

That isn't shilling you autistic faggot, go back to /pol and meme over there.

What a strong response to such a harmless question. It’s almost like you have something to hide. I heard when shills get outed, their sweaty middle eastern boss ties them to a table and beats their feet with rods (like in midnight express)

Stop self-reflecting, you posed accusing me of shilling as a question, but i see through your autisum. Now fuck off like a good little boy

No, I have spent a few years now trying to find a reasonable retro controller.
I hate PlayStation and onward era controllers because they have those handles on them and weigh a ton. The handles tend to make me unconsciously pull on the controller, which fucks up my arms.
So I like the classic pad type.
I wanted bigger buttons and six face buttons because the SNES configuration is really only good for SNES.
So I tried a lot of stuff and the m30 does what I need and can handle being dropped on my hard floor more than a few times.
It has multiple Bluetooth modes as well (unlike a lot of cheaper ones that just talk to their own usb-in) so I can use one mode for my tablet and one for my retropie.

Works good.
If 8bitdo is handing out money for saying so I'd like my fucking check now

Where the FUCK did these go? I've been waiting for this fucking thing for years.

It certainly seems that they pay to have a presence here and elsewhere. For being purveyors of some really low to mid range at best controllers, often riddled with QC issues, you can't browse a controller thread on cuckchan, reddit, or other retro gaming forum without multiple people giving them bizarrely positive, almost scripted recommendations.

understandable, I just said it because the 3 posts looked oddly similar to me

I wish I knew, so far I can't find ANY decent gamepads that have 6 face buttons, analog triggers and at least one stick. Closest thing I could find was this
>https://www.amazon.com/New-Improved-D-Pad-PlayStation4-PlayStation3-PlayStation/dp/B01HT2TUBQ/
but it looks autistic as fuck and also I have my doubts about the quality
There is also the brawlergen usb, but it doesn't have analog triggers and apparently the build quality is somehow worse than retrobit and 8bitdo shit.
Also, I saw 8bitdo was doing something similar but apparently it was just a fucking april fool's prank??

>> No.6858290

>>6858276
I don't know any game that requires 6 face buttons and analog triggers at the same time

>> No.6858342

>>6858290
I guess its kinda redundant, but I wanted an "all-in-one solution" if you know what I mean.
Also, even if I reduce the criteria to just analog stick+6 face buttons, my options are pretty much still the same

nah, their shit's good. I don't know about anything pre 2018 but i got the M30, PCE Core and the SF30 to go with my mini consoles and they've all felt really solid, tough with a premium quality feel. They feel like controller that's way more expensive. I did seeth when i go RetroBit shitty wireless blue seethrough Saturn controller thinking that because it was like $35 i was going something great and it turns out to be a cheap rattly piece of crap (on top with which i had problems paring it with my PC)

To prove i'm not shelling i will give the one negative about the 8-Bitdo control i have seen is the PCE Core on is for some bizzare reason 0.5cm smaller in width to the one that came with the PC Engine mini. It's not really a big deal as it still feels comfortable but i would have preferred it if it was the same width,

the 8bitdo is wank. Dpad went crunchy on mine if you give it anything more than a light press.

I got the 2.4ghz retrobit controllers for the Saturn and Genesis, they work fine.
