Virtua Fighter 2 was out before Tekken 1. Almost nobody played the original Tekken. It wasn't until Tekken 3 came out that they finally bested Virtua Fighter crowds. Daytona USA would also be the direct competitor to Ridge Racer. 3d OutRun didn't hit until Xbox. Neither Sega or Namco's flyers or motorcycle games drew much of a crowd.
