The GOAT. Only flaw is the crappy bumpers. If you have the post-One S revision they're at least not as crappy as the launch model. I'm probably going to buy the SeX controller when it comes out in the hope that the bumpers won't suck as bad. I'm not sure how I feel about the new Dpad though. I've never really used a circular Dpad extensively. Can anyone who's used an Elite chime in on how they like the Dpad? It looks similar to that.

Yeah, no. Anything that uses the control stick as the primary input is inarguably better on the Xbone controller. And personally I'm not a fan of the split dpad either. Wouldn't want to have to play a game like 2D Mario where you have to rapidly slide your thumb back and forth across the dpad.

Gray for laptop (plugged into monitor), blue for android while on back with it anchored over head, 8bitdo n30 for camping and thus in a gobag with an alternative android that I keep with another backup android in the same go-bag.

So I only use the gray and blue mostly, however the 8bitdo is both bluetooth and wireless while being the most compact. Came with a carrying case designed for an android to go in with it and all.

The gray is a bit damaged on the left analog stick. The blue is refurbished a bit with super glue as the buttons stopped poking back out so I had to fix it. The portable tier 8bitdo is mint, though I think they sold me a used one, the faggots.

I used to have a blue and black logitech controller but no longer.

Logitech from early thousands radio shack.

Bluetooth, amazon.

Nyco air, a friend that stole my logitech.

8bit thingy, amazon.

I first played with a keyboard only back in the win98 emulator days. But whatever. I'm not finding my white keyboard online. Some hp keyboard. I was pretty good with it and even played OOT on it if I recall. Who needed an analog stick? Anyway...

Logitech has always consistently delivered good PC controllers over the decades. The F310 is still one of the best 'cheap' gamepads out there, if you don't mind a Playstation style gamepad with Xbox (xinput) button configuration. Even the d-pad on their controllers are really competent. They have their own patented d-pad design. Better than most other pads I have used.

The Logitech Wingman Rumble wireless is still sought after all these years, in some circles. This one uses RF wireless like the wavebird.

I own a black 8BitDo SN30 Pro+. I use it as a wired pad on my PC and it works quite well. On Steam, you can either detect this pad as a generic Xbox One gamepad, or a generic Nintendo Switch gamepad. Gravis use to be well known for their PC sound cards. They were heavily marketed to the PC gamer crowd, and music production. It was really common to see 'game ports' (DA-15 connectors) on the back of the more popular sound cards. So Gravis would also make joysticks. Gravis made the original 4 button PC gamepad specifically for Commander Keen. Commander Keen popularized 2D platformers on the PC in 1990. It was one of the first gamepad (non joystick) controllers for the PC-DOS platform. That disc d-pad was really questionable. It breaks easily and one of the directions will never register properly me. I also owned some Gravis GamePad pro's. These used the patented PlayStation design, but are made out of a cheap hard plastic. Have somewhat mushy buttons and that same awful d-pad. But I still used this controller to play a lot of emulated SNES games.

Thanks, those Retrobit ones are still in my Amazon wishlist. The clear blue plastic looks great. I read they have a revision which is better, but it doesn't seem well documented on what's the good one they released.

I only know of the Razer Raion, which uses microswitches in its dpad. So not quite a stick. Look up some reviews, though, I haven't had the chance to use it.
Another possibility would be to mod the neogeo reissue controller. They removed the switches, but they can be added back somehow.

They're still responding on Reddit as if it's really happening though:

https://www.reddit.com/user/Retro-bit/

I dont understand the delay honestly as it happened before the covd situation, but I want to give them the benefit of the doubt anyway because it really is the dream controller to me.

That doesn't seem to work. Mostly because the controller lacks proper drivers, so the PC can't detect it as anything other than a USB charger.

I have found the most obtusely retarded workaround though, lacking a bluetooth adapter on-hand since I was trying a wired connection earlier: bluetoothing it to my Steam Link.

its not a driver issue, the usb port is literally just for charging
you need to pair it using bluetooth, and then use wiinusoft
