I still don't know why this happened. My only idea is that maybe I forgot to mention it was a Castlevania game. You'd think they would know that though.

U must have been a rich kid. I don't know a single person that ever actually called nintendo. I don't even recall anyone that knew anyone else that did either.

it's probably just listed as Castlevania II, "simon's quest" is the subtitle, it's like if you asked someone unfamiliar with mario about a game called "legend of the seven stars"

who said they were cool with it? they probably quickly learned how to put a toll lock on it afterwards

no parent would let their kid's call it unless they were verified retards.
>>6839238
my parents had such a lock that they'd enable over the phone. there was a flaw: i had an extension line and could record audio. I worked out what keypad tones were being sent and from there i could do what I liked. If there were more calls in a month, they couldn't blame me or my siblings as we didn't know the lock code..supposedly.

maybe i just don't understand, being a native english speaker, but surely you have games in your own language?

Dude was a kid. It sounds like a fun thing to do to me. I mean I wouldn't do it now, because I'd recognize the genre of the game probably, and then I'd just be annoyed. I'd know what KINDS of things you could do in games of this genre, so there wouldn't be any fun surprises. But if I were a little kid and in the right mood then I might love it.

>> No.6841324

>>6841307
yea, idk, again maybe it's just because i'm a native english speaker, you have to go out of your way to get non-english things in an english country, so being stuck with a non-english game was not something i had to deal with

>> No.6841327

I think we called once, when I was a kid. I don't remember who was there - maybe my mom and my sister? I don't know why we called. I don't know what we asked or what they told us. I don't think it helped a lot, whatever it was. So it probably wasn't worth however many dollars it cost.

We also had Nintendo Power so who cares, you'd just use that normally if you wanted to cheat.

Those Kemco adventures spring to mind. The amount of times I must have called over every stupid little puzzle in Shadowgate...
